So Selling Dental is the New Fad Huh?

The intent in the original question was to get opinions on selling dental insurance plans, not the benefits it provides.

I looked into a firm that claims it is the largest marketing company for Assurant. Free leads were offered.

Never got into the program but they kept me on their email list so I was able to see the results.

It's NOT an easy sale. The leads are generated from low incomes. Of the 20 agents listed in the emails, only a couple had produced above average. The rest had closing rates between 1:8 and 1:10.

Premiums for most policies are small--I believe $48 a month. Big bucks happen when you upgrade them to @ $98 a month.

The emails were outrageous. BIG BOLD LETTERS IN RED. Sometimes 3 per day. SCREAMING !!! More production, etc.

My recruiter was Peter Palmioto, who has a great ad and video on Craigslist. If you get a chance, watch and learn a few tips.

No, not really. I never even saw an actual question posted in post #1.....unless you count the title's rhetorical question connotation. Certainly the OP was not asking for opinions on selling dental plans. Seems like a "free for all" dental thread.

I guess this thread is a "free for all" while the title of this thread does have a question in it, it was more of a personal rant lol. I was more suprised by the number of agents on this board that have contacted me saying Dental is their primary income product now...

Not sure why anyone would shell out nearly $100 a month for a $1500 annual benefit with 180 days waiting period.
My wife is in the middle of 20K of dental work and I'm paying just over 8K with an HMO with no limit or waiting period.

You ever sell an Assurant dental? Its possible

No offense, but I have yet to see true dental insurance that is worth the premium charged. There are some DHMO's and discount plans that MAY be worth the money. But you couldn't make a living off of those unless you were selling 10+ per day and that's just not feasible.

Every post has the potential to become a free for all.
