Sons of Norway?

I just contracted mainly for the GI, much less than Gerber or AIG. Wrote 2 apps this week. Had questions about the premium. FEX has them in their quote engine, but I am not sure the quote includes the $5 monthly membership so I called the HO for the last 2 days and only got an answering machine each time. The agent guide states that a real person will always speak with you so I am disappointed.
If you call (612)821-4689, it's Mark Hellerson's direct #. I just talked to him, he answered on the 2nd ring.

Finally got someone to answer the phone this afternoon after numerous attempts and messages. Got to talk with one of the top dogs and told him of my situation and he assured me that it would be corrected. Found out that WaylonA was correct about the membership fee. It is only $24 even though the application plainly states $60. Told to just cross out $60 and write $24. Don't know why they can't print applications with the correct cost. Ask where you find where the fee is just $24, but was told it was and shown what to do.
It's $24 a year to be a member of the Central Lodge, $60 a year to be a member of a local lodge.

I am in the process of getting appointed. However, I am being told that I (the contracting agent) have to become a "member" and pay the $60 annual membership fee. And annually thereafter to remain appointed. However, they will pick up my state appointment fees.

Is this for real? Has anyone else, who is appointed, paid this membership fee?
Yes, I did.

The agent guide states policies will be issued in 48 hours. I called for 2 weeks after getting a status report that told me nothing. Finally got ahold of Christian and he said they were waiting on the $24 membership fee. I told him that he had a void check and to draft it along with the initial premium. He did so and issued the policy while I was on the phone. Collect a separate check for the membership and premium if you don't want a delay.
They have a new app(ICC19 GI App19). Under dues, you put either $24 or $60(depending if they want the central or a local lodge) and that amount will be drafted with the 1st premium. They'll be billed seperately every year after, and and as Waylon said, they don't have to renew their membership to keep the policy.

With the new GI app, you don't need to fill out a seperate form for membership.

I popped my Viking cherry yesterday while waiting on my drug dealer.:biggrin:

$500 for a half hour's work....even at 50%, that's not bad.

Can you give some specifics on the policy and why you went that direction. 50% in my mind is awful low regardless of little work... just wondering why you chose them in for that case?

She's on oxygen 24/7 for COPD and Chronic Asthma(and still smokes), Rheumatoid Arthritis, stents and heart attack 2 1/2 years ago, gout and more. The only thing she didn't have was diabetes.

Like I said, 50%, but $500 commission for a half an hour while I was killing time waiting for my dealer. I'm happy.
