SPWL Products

Todd,

I would not describe my first post as "bashing" someone...instead simply persuading him do do some independent research prior to "bashing" a company and its product(s). Aviva's Keepsake-SPUL, Shenandoah SPWL's(unfortunately, cannot accept business currently), and Lincoln Financial's Moneyguard are all good products. I like sagicor's Fixed Indexed SPWL because of the amount of guarateed DB purchased, Standard through Table 4 Non-Med underwriting to age 85, Guaranteed ROP Day 1 for the client, Flexible ADIR-Chronic Illness Benefit (No Confinement/Reimbursement required) and 3 interest crediting strategies (2 indexed) the SP can be allocated to start and reallocated over the life of the policy.

Thank you.

How much "independent research" should one do before bashing?

Genius,

In your original post you were asking for ideas about good SPWL Products from a variety of carriers because you have a need or want to potentially show this Inheritance Planning-Wealther Transfer-Wealth Creation-Chronic Illness solution for your clients. You were given information pertaining to Sagicor's Fixed Indexed SPWL info in an earlier thread. Did you review the information provided to you??? Request Illustrations from several SPWL "A" Rated carrier's (including Sagicor's) to lay down side by side to review and compare so you can decide what constitutes a "good" SPWL solution for your clientele? I think not...sounds like we all have alot to learn and it doesn't stop here.
It should never stop:idea:

Congratulations on joining the forum and such an insightful first post.

I've taken time to review the information provided to me on Sagicor, in addition to some further information I requested from them. Sorry you assumed I hadn't... Sorry if that strikes a cord with you...

To address your suggestion. Its not always about "the illustrations" (though very important) when it comes to these products. In fact, the reason I've been using Baltimore Life's SPWL is the excellent accelerated benefits it offers for home health care & nursing care (85% of face, lump sum, tax free with only 2 of 6 ADL's) in addition to their relaxed underwriting. It makes it a stronger, more suitable, well rounded product to offer a client in my opinion.

If you feel you have a better suggestion, by all means, share it with the forum so we can learn something new, but dont drive by and assume no one around here hasn't done their homework...

Great rebuttal.

I don't really assume but I do appreciate your input. I agree illustrations are important as is the clint need/objective, policy language, the company behind the plan and the agent selling it. I think we are comparing a lime to a peach though. BL's SPWL issues standard through table 8 with a higher cost to insureds in a table 5-8 range with limited issue ages. SLIC's is issued standard table 4 non-med only with pretty much a higher guaranteed db across the board through Table 4 with a much higher upside potential including a guaranteed ROP day 1, guaranteed 2% accumulation with 3 interest (1 fixed, 2 indexed) crediting strategies available. Let's compare Accelerated Death Benefit Insurance Riders since it is a very important benefit of the sale as you mentioned...Under SLIC's ADBIR (Inherent) has Terminal (lump sum)and Chronic Illness Benefits available. The CI rider is also triggered by non-performance of 2 of 6 ADL's with a twist; policyholder personal physician certifies it, no confinement anywhere required...No skillked nursing care required etc....recuperate in Hawaii if you like, max benefit of $250,000 paid directly to the owner over 33 months to be spent however they wish out of the db, not sp, hence generally income tax free. In addition, they give your client an immediate 10% bonus on your clients SP and pay a fair comp. I could go on but this is simply a SPWL on Steroids. I didn't know that the more posts you do on the forum makes you an expert but as I expressed in my first post it is good to learn and I appreciate you starting a "SPWL" conversation. Have you looked at Americo's or American Amicable's SPWL's? Aviva's or Lincoln Financial SPUL's? Check em out.

Gotta get back to work.

Make it a great day-Bee
