For personal umbrella, does anyone know if they can cover tenant occupied residential buildings too? Generally it only covers personal home and personal auto right?

If so which carriers have option to add lessor risk schedule?

Thanks!

should have said NY. anyone know which umbrella carriers will cover tenant occupied homes in NY

by tenant occupied residential buildings, do you mean rental homes or the owner of an apartment complex?

1-4 family homes owned by insured but rented out to others for rental income.

i use personalumbrella but they dont offer to cover tenant occupied buildings (for ny anyways)

Why would you only cover the rental properties and not everything the client has,

Most companies will attache the umbrella to the auto policy, and then you can cover each rental, usually for as little as $25 a year...

Unless, the rentals are in an LLC or something, you MIGHT have an issue with the my comment

he wants an umbrella to cover his auto, home, rental properties.

personalumbrella wont let me put his rental properties under the coverage, which makes umbrella not an umbrella?

I just logged in, and Personal umbrella.com lets me add rentals...it let me add 25 rentals, rate was $807 a year for 25 rentals, their house and 2 cars.

The problem is when you say apartment buildings, you can't write apartment buildings on a personal umbrella. At least, not with my impression of what an apartment building is.

You can write a 4-plex on a personal umbrella though.

I'm wondering if the term 'building', which is generally thought of as a commercial term, is throwing this off?????
