Struggling to Write Apps.

December is my busiest month because of AEP.

Mine also.

Mostly because I slack off every summer. Then this time hits and I start making calls like crazy. By the time Dec comes up I am swamped. Same thing every year. You would think I would learn.

I still say, go back to your book of business. Somebody is talking to them. I will:yes:

Last year, two MA's left our county. Secure Horizons & Coventry. I had writers cramp from all the med supp's I wrote. Fortunately, Frank has volunteered to fly out and help if the same happens again this year.
What a guy Frank is. We should have a Frank appreciation thread.

What is up with this summer? I was averaging a app a day untill i got back from vacation in July. Now I'm stuggling to get 1-2 med supps apps a week. Both me and my telemarketer have beef up our efforts and still seeing a decrease in leads production and sales.

It is just a slow time of the year. Kids are going back to school. People are still trying to sqeeze in a vaction. Stock market is down... People are afraid to invest their money.

The trick is going to be finding a niche market. Like finding the people that have been declined for insurance and finding them coverage.

Also the market is flooded right now with mailers, dialers and new agents all running to F.E.

32 years in the industry. I have found August to always be my slowest month.

I've been in the business 26 years. August may be my lowest renewal month of the year.

It's been slow for me the last few weeks, but this week has been a little better.

It'll pick up the end of the year.

That is exactly what I've been working on!! Hummmm, great minds think alike!!! ;)

If I may.

Go to your filing cabinets.

I hit a self imposed summertime funk also. Then I started hunting. Better to hunt grounds you have been to before.

If you have sold term in the past. Look for the stuff that will term out in the next five years. Convert or rewrite. Under performing UL? Child riders that need to be converted? Other policies your clients own, Do an AOR.

Low hanging fruit.

Just my 2 cents.....

To quote Tom Hopkins: "The only way to get out of a slump is to WORK!" Try writing more final expense. That's what I did and I've made $6K in the last two weeks.
