Suggestions for Office Phone Service. Magic Jack?

How is the quality with ring central and packet 8?

I have or soon to be had Pcaket 8 but only used it for a while. I bought a better router but the lazy installer said i did not need it. the router was a D-Link N-type with QoS or Quality of Service. As far as I know - QoS improves the voice quality. The guy was too lazy to hook it up.

Local calls seem okay and I have a DSL with about 3 MB down and 321 K up.

Calls to AZ and NM had some delay issues because your are going across router hops I guess. I heard (E to W or W to E) coast to coast calls can have these issues.

magic jack has been good for me, but I have a high bandwith connection...

How high bandwith is your connection? Can you get an 800 number with MJ?

I guess you could have the 800 in bound go to Ring Central. Thanks.

I use Teleblend. It's 15.95 a month, and 3.99 a month for extra numbers. So, in the DC area, I can have a 703 (Northern VA, a 202 (Washington DC), and a 310 (MD) number all pointing to the same device. If I'm out an about, I use their SimRing which will ring multiple phones (the office line, my cell phone) at the same time.

The best feature they have is their PowerMail. Basically it's a little application I install on my computer and when a call comes in I see it on my computer, and I can actually hear them leave a message, so if I want to pick it up I can. It's only like a buck extra.

Sounds great. 800 number too? Inbound and outbound calls?

Is your office phone plugged into the PC or do you have one normal landline? Thanks.

Let me know if you want to go with Packet 8. I have an online mall where you get cash back on all of your purchases. I can set you up with your own mall and you can go through the mall to get your Packet 8 service. You'll make a commission on the purchase. If you want to see what my mall looks like, PM me for the link. It's free to sign up. I get cash back on domain purchases, office supplies and much more. I think you guys will like it.

No, that's the only thing that they don't do (800 numbers). I've kept pestering them about it, but all I get is that they will look into it.

It does cover inbound and outbound calls. Now, that extra number I was talking about is just for inbound calls though. You can't make outbound calls with it.

My office phone is not plugged into a PC. I have a regular Uniden phone that plugs into one of their devices that they give you. Though, I've been doing some research about maybe getting one of the fancier phones from linksys or polycom or cisco. But I'm not sure if it'll work. A regular cordless phone has been done me just fine.
