Don't remember, but we both graduated with about $5000 each. But, before you try to make a comparison, I worked full-time in the summer and during school to pay the rest. How much was your loan in 1975?

Or you could say, we were more responsible. Min wage, which is what I made, was about $2 per hour. We all had a mixture of loans, grants, and cash. For me, the loan amount was about 30% of the cost. It's almost like the 1970's were over 50 years ago and things are much much MUCH more expensive now.

Yes they can, they choose not to. You can choose lower cost schools, live at home, attend JC schools for 2 years, work, apply for grants, take 5 or 6 years to complete, not go on spring break...I could go on and on. After we graduated we did not work min wage jobs, but we did do without for about 3 years until we were able to pay them off.Again the 1970's were 50 years ago. No one nowadays can earn minimum wage, go to school, pay bills, rent, car, food etc and come out only 5k in debt...

It's almost like you're pretending there isn't a glaringly obvious reason the cost of college has increased so much.
You guys who are picking on the gangly looking mug with the glasses are committing a felony. At least in my state a law just passed that makes picking on gender (using wrong pronouns) a $10k fined felony. hahaha
