You are right thought about the clientele part. Most Americans are either going to end up buying an FE policy or die having their family wish they had bought an FE policy.

Many Americans can't even afford eggs these days, much less a funeral for gramma and grandpa.

Hmmm. I bet plenty of those people have enough money for expensive luxury items such as smartphones, designer sneakers, fast food (which I could never afford), cigarettes, hard alcohol and lottery tickets.
