They Want Enrollers, Not Agents

That is your point and one you have felt the need to repeat many times.

I don't post in the final expense forum and rarely in the senior forum, why do you care what anyone who voluntarily chose to remain in the health insurance market thinks or writes?

My mistake. I thought this was an INSURANCE forum not one limited to people that agree with you.

If I could get 8% on IFP I probably would continue to sell the product. But I can't. When you are offered 1-2% I wonder how loud the complaining will be.

Sell what you want. I just think it's strange that those of you in this market now bitch about not being paid, clients being stolen and oppressive rules. As if that was unexpected.

rick... let me ask you something..... any of that ever happen to you in the MAPD market?

Sure. Plans come and go. I just move on to another area or focus on supplements.

Bitching, moaning and writing letters won't change anything. I'm already looking into another Plan B. I don't think it will be too long before Medicare is changed so that supplements are not necessary. (Not that we can afford that but we can't afford Obamacrap either).

And hence the original thread topic. At 2%, it forces an agent to make the decision to become an "enroller" or stay a full service agent.

Work on volume, get them in the door and pick a plan. That's it. No follow up, no servicing, no income verification or late payment reminder, strictly transaction based. A no touch business can probably expect a large 25% drop off rate

There's no room to build relationships, service the client, and get referrals.

Instead of a name, the client become a number.

I believe someone coined the term "ratt n roll"

Well... I operate like this, ride the horse im on till the legs fall off.... when I know the horse is about to drop I look for another horse on the horizon. When one breaks down I jog to the other one....

I have not bitched and moaned about ACA problems/plans... I just go do what I do.... I do bitch about numskulls at CMS or insurance companies making stupid maneuvers... I adapted.

Most of the agents bitching are lower producing agents.

Do I hate the verification system? yes, because as FLM spoke of there is a better way to execute the situation... more user friendly way.... more business orientated way.... so I bitch because I choose to.....

Do I dislike the FFM call centers? yep, because the people there have the brain of a doodle bug...

Do I think the feds hate agents? yes to that one. That will never change... just like they hate you on MAPD(and me)

Overall I just do what I do... sell, produce more than any other one man shop... and service to insure my clients stay my clients

Most of those of us who stuck it out have seen a massive increase in income, just like FLM pointed out. Reduced comp or not.

I wouldn't consider $300 a month a "massive increase" in income. But hey it's better than a sharp stick in the eye. YMMV
