Thoughts on this trend?

What's the big deal? Just another funeral planning service similar to what LH and Senior Life offers. Except theirs is "free"?:skeptical:

p.s.- I wonder if there is any solid evidence these programs help persistency.

I'm brand-spanking-new at this so I wouldn't know if it was a big deal or not. I'm guessing it's not!

The companies PA Bill mentioned (Senior Life and Lincoln Heritage) have EXTREMELY high prices. In order to get their agents to be able to sell it, they add gimmicks to make it seem so great! It is nothing at all special and they tell clients that it does things that it really doesn't do.

You are better off having a diverse lineup in your bag and doing what is right for the client without having to use a gimmick.

Like what?

That's their mail in GI. So we won't have access to it. I think it will help them sell a few more policies, which is good for us. Easy replacements.

That the FCGS will call around and negotiate prices and save them so much. That's not what it does. Plus, most clients already know which funeral home they will be using, so knowing what another funeral home charges is pointless to them. Just a sales gimmick.
The plan with Sr. Life goes step farther and locks in merchandise cost. I know a couple of funeral directors that will not take calls from FCGS. No need for them to do so. The policy is assigned to them so they are going to get their money. The beneficiary has already decided to use his services so their no need to waste his time talking FCGS.

Ben, if you feel this way about SL why are you writing business with them? I saw your group production on the monthly newsletter.
