Do you own research, there is a document out there from CMS talking about "renewing" existing plans. I can't find it in my files, but it's out there. Maybe look for the thread a month or two ago

I found the document I think your talking about awhile ago but i haven't found that Dec 15th deadline. I will look it over again.

Plan submissions effective the first of the month must be submitted by the 15th of the month prior. For Jan 1, this is December 15th.

I hope this clarifies where the date comes from. If you haven't applied for replacement Jan 1 coverage by the deadline, the auto-renew kicks in to ensure there isn't a lapse of coverage.

But prime can still change their plans if they don't like the auto renewal because it's open enrollment.
