UCT's Dental, Vision, Hearing Plan, Any Good?

Does anyone have any experience with this company? How bout the product DVH?

Anybody use this for a prospecting tool and get good results?

Prices vs Payout, I like how they will cover dental operations that most dental insurance won't pay for after 6 months. Any takes on the value of this policy?

Will this stack with people who receive MA DVH benefits or is it just for people with orignal medicare or med supps?

Thank you for any advice and input!

I've sold quite abit to my clients and I took out the policy myself. It's been a very good plan. I'm paying for this stuff out of pocket anyways, so it's nice to have some help. I just went into my 13th month and now have 70% coverage. I just had a crown put in and the dentist charged almost $900, UCT is in the process of paying 70% of the actual bill. They've also paid on my glasses, dental cleaning, x-rays and I'm going to order contacts this week. I only pay about $33 a month. I think your clients would be very happy with the plan, I know I am. Every claim I've submitted they have paid on what was actually billed, not "reasonable and customary" like alot of the other plans out there

Yes they do have an annual maximum benefit...pretty much all dental plans have that. With UCT they offer $750, $1000, $1500 or $2000 annual maximum benefit. You can also choose from a $0 deductible or $100 deductible. You get one cleaning a year covered at 100% each year up to $75. Everything else is covered at 60% 1st year, 70% 2nd year 80% 3rd year and 90% fourth year and thereafter

The nice thing about this plan is they do have immediate coverage for fillings/cavities, eye exams, hearing exams, dental exam, chipped tooth repair, single tooth extraction, x-rays. There is a 90 day waiting period for the cleaning, 6 month for root canal, eye glasses and contacts and 12 month for bridges, crowns, full dentures or partials, full mouth extractions and hearing aids

Thanks for the info....it's nice to have a little plan like this but I can see where someone would hit their maximum pretty fast and sometimes after one "major" dental procedure.

On the $900 claim, UCT will pay $630. I have a $1,000 annual maximum so it still leaves me with $370. That will still cover my dental cleaning and exam ($75 for the cleaning and $45 for the exam) and then my contacts come to $65. I usually don't have too many big dental bills. That crown was so painfull, I think I'll just tell the dentist to pull my tooth if I ever need another one.

By the way, if you're looking to get licensed with UCT, Frank Stastney is the guy to go through. He wasn't offering contracts when I got licensed or else I would have gone through him. He's offering top contracts for this plan. I think his # is 877.633.0808

I have been using a simular plan with Medico. You can use any dentist not a network, that's what I like. The network stuff does not seem to give many options for dentists.

I sell both the UCT and the Medico plans. I bought the UCT plan for both my wife and myself, and just sold a Medico plan to a client Friday. The benefits almost mirror each other precisely except for a few points. The reason I chose UCT is that they go to 90% year 4, whereas Medico tops out at 80% year 3.

One thing you need to consider, and that is the annual cap. Generally speaking, the higher, the better since this is a 3-in-one plan. For example, f you need hearing aids one year, that pretty much will wipe out dental benefits for that year, especially with a low cap.

The other good point is that both these DVH plans are supplemental... IOW, they don't coordinate benefits with other plans. That being the case, I am continuing my group insurance dental plan for a year and will drop it next year. That way I don't have gaps in coverage this year due to waiting periods.

Most indemnity plans like Assurant, UCT and Medico pay the most commissions first year and then barely nothing the second year. These indemnity plans have the worst retention.

The network plans like Golden Rule, Humana, Aetna, Delta, etc. are the better plans for your clients but pay 5-10% level commissions. Network plans have the best retention.

The best network plan I've come across is with Ameritas.
- Ameritas is the 2nd largest Dental Network behind Delta Dental
- Can use any provider.
- 2,500 max limit
- no waiting periods for preventative, basic or major services
- vision insurance included w/ no waiting period
- up to 28% level commissions (new/renewal)
- 12 month advance
- paid weekly
- easy online enrollment

I hope this helps
