Unicare Stops Selling Health Insurance in Virginia

Just got a letter in the mail from Unicare....no more group or individual in VA. Terminating the whole thing.

been there already with the texas withdraw. how many you got and how many clients are in va for unicare

Only one client still on the books with Unicare luckily. Unicare isn't really big in VA since Anthem is here and their rates were never that competitive in the small area where Anthem doesn't sell in Northern VA.

I think they pulled out of In as well. Anyway, I notice they are never listed on In quote engines.

They haven't been on my Norvax in over a year, but I was never told why so I just didn't bother with it...I never understood why insurance companies don't want brokers to be able to quote their products. Same thing w/ some companies and Compulife.

Re Compulife (I have the service but haven't used it very much)...what are the most competitive companies that I will not find on Compulife?

There's a few companies that pulled their UL rates. Prudential and Principal come to mind. There's been a couple others that asked to have all of their rates pulled....ask Robert Barney, he could probably tell you exactly who it was.
