United Life

Maybe replacing a five-year-old policy on somebody pushing 80 is a bad idea?
Not a replacement. Just price sensitive. Referred to me by my Farm Bureau agent. They had no life insurance at all, but couldn't afford what he could offer. The 5 year I referred to was her health history as required by the app, not the age of her nonexistent policy.

(BTW, I rarely replace, and have preached against replacing on price post contestability many times on these forums. You obviously don't know me very well! ;))

I have a friend in Cleveland TN that uses them. They do request a lot of questionnaires but they seem to be pretty good at issuing coverage..

I'm bumping this thread to see if anybody's had recent experience with this carrier. I got a contract with them originally for the GDB, but haven't written anything with them since they discontinued that product last year. However, I needed a pricebuster the other day, and they had a very low rate for my 78 yr old female client. Her 5 year history had her taking meds for HBP, cholesterol, vertigo, and OCD. None of those seemed like a big deal to me, but the company sent me 3 questionnaires to fill out (HBP, mental/anxiety, and musculoskeletal). Hoping it will be issued as applied, but I haven't had to fill out a questionnaire in several years, so now I'm nervous!

BTW, this is the United from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, NOT the Kemper debit company.
What face amount?

Fbl
Kskj
Omaha

it's all very fair si options, If that's not good enough for her to find a real prospect
His situation is a little different from the typical FE agent running leads. If that were the case, I would agree with you. But when you are a debit agent, heavily dependent upon referrals you go an extra mile.. not necessarily for the benefit of the prospective client but for the referrer..

Those are good suggestions, but United's rate is a lot lower. I don't know about KSKJ rates, but FBL/Trinity and MoO both come in at $20/month higher on $10k at her age.

I had to write a GI on her husband, so I went to Gerber for him, which was a significantly higher premium than hers. So I hope this gets issued as applied, because I'm trying hard to keep their total monthly at a somewhat affordable level for them.

I'm not about to just move on and "find a real prospect". This was a referral from a captive agent who doesn't have product to successfully address the need, so he thought he'd give me a shot at it. Those types of referrals have to be earned, and they often throw you a "test case" to see what you can do that they can't. So it's pretty important for me to get this accomplished.

Hey, I faxed all 3 questionnaires up on Saturday. Just checked my email and discovered she was approved as applied today! Actually pretty quick turnaround for a no POS company. I'm going to try a few more apps with them!
