Vegas Man Stuck with $407,000 Bill!

What happens to the agent that helped the guy enroll? Does anything see some far reaching affects for agents? Or am I paranoid?

What did the agent do wrong??
If the agent did something inept that caused the problem, "yes", agent has exposure.
Sounds to me like the hand off from the exchange to the insurer didn't go too smooth.

If this client was in CA, the agent could possibly be looking at the death penalty...

You think you actually need to do something wrong to be sued? This is 'Merica.

According to the original article again, the agent is helping him through this whole fiasco. Hopefully she'll get some sort of reimbursal for her time and effort although I doubt it.

Where you can sue because there wasn't a warning telling you NOT to stop a chainsaw with your genitals (and win!).

Some clients think that brokers are a one man sales/service/claims/billing/processing/reconciliation/data entry/conflict resolution/producer network management team for all carriers. Any problem with anything is the broker's fault, because brokers are the only ones they have seen.

Luckily, it looks like this client recognizes his broker is a champion for his cause, a licensed expert with experience and knowledge who is doing everything they can to correct a screw up that was neither of their fault.
