For those who have hung in since 2010 and made a good business out of a mess...congratulations, you have won.

For those who fought through all of the healthcare.gov issues and continued to meet or exceed your clients' expectations...congratulations, you have won

For those who continued to do the right thing for clients regardless of compensation reductions...congratulations, you have won.

I could go on but the bottom line is that our agent community was put in a ridiculous situation in the past month (having to essentially do a full years' work in 4 weeks with a major holiday in the middle) and, if you are still standing today with your book of business intact, you have won.

This OEP was the most critical in the entire ACA era, we all know that, and to move forward with a full book of business is a testament to the hard work and dedication so many of us put worth-not only in the past month but the entre year in preparation.

There is, of course, clean up work (and two more months of OEP), but today is a day for me to just feel good and I hope each of you is feeling the same way.

FLM is right...What other career offers you commission schedules released last minute so there is no way to plan what you will be earning, ridiculous constant software issues from both carriers and the govt, an always confused and irate clientele, a government that ill advises and sells our product direct through unlicensed government employees, an OEP that overlaps the 65 senior market making servicing both markets at same time nearly impossible...yea its a great market LOL = congrats to all who have survived.

Overlapping markets is one of my biggest fears. There are only three of us and we about died during Medicare AEP, this week trying to catch up and serve our current ACA clients has been pure hell. We breath a sigh of relief today knowing that they got served for the most part.

With our typical off season growth projections we wonder how we can possibly do it again with another 200-300 clients than we entered the season with this go around.

I'd hate to put on another assistant for such a short spurt, but I can't see my way around not having one more body.
