Views on Working Week of the 4th

You can sell insurance any day of the year, assuming you don't have to do a POS phone call. You can sell every last holiday if you want. There is no such thing as a bad time of the year.

That said, I got into insurance so I could control my life and not let my life control me. I really pity the person who thinks they need to sell on a holiday. Work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, enjoy Thursday and if you feel like it, work Friday.

My sentiments exactly, what is the point of working hard if you can't take a 4 day weekend on the 4th of July? I would also prefer not to pick up clients that spend their holiday's with an insurance agent.

most of my agents are working friday and saturdays... my agent in MO always tell me this is his favorite time to work because he racks up writing family members once he finds his buyers

To each their own. I'm undecided about Friday, but I'll probably work it, just not too hard.

Long time ago I was with AIL, and was talked into a road trip to East Lebenon Ga for the memorial day weekend...one of the stupider things I've ever done in this business. Absolutely no one at home, unless they were dead broke...anyone of any substance was out of town.

Some others have said it right...we do this business to have control of our lives, and working holidays just sort of goes against living a balanced life somehow imo. But Hey, sometimes it just has to get done, if I had a Lincoln policy to replace, I might be tempted there...afterall, the 4th is just fireworks, unless u have access to a boat...im not one for mid-day mid-summer parades, lol

There's a difference between working the actual holiday and the days before it

I love that too! I was at a guys house this morning and he told me the same thing. That was an easy sale.

Apparently the Lincoln guys in Utah aren't very good closers. In my 4 years off doing final expense off and on, I have seen less than 5 policies from LH

C Section went well and at 8:21 am EST 7 lbs 13 ounces 21 inches long healthy boy. They are both doing fine right now.

Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby boy. While I certainly don't miss those days, they sure are amazing.
