Voice Broadcasting Leads

Is it still legal to do a voice broadcast to businesses? The FTC doesn't address it directly but says that telemarketing laws do not apply for B2B unless you are selling office supplies. There must have been a real problem with that in the past.

That has been the subject of much debate, all things considered it's probably not the best route to go, but I'm also partially biased because I use telemarketers and would rather them have less competition.

Voice broadcasting to businesses is not illegal, but look what happens.

The reception recieves the call, the message starts playing, then she hangs up the phone. Receptionists wont listen to a voice broadcast because they can not transfer the call, and the call was not for them, nor do they care about what ever the message is saying. To them its an annoyance.

Unless you call the precise person on their direct line, your message wont be delivered, and it will be wasted. If the target person has an extention number, most voice broadcast systems will not deal with dialing an extention becuase phone menus can be complicated and a computer wont know precisely when to press the extention number.

The best solution us to use whats called a "voicemail courier". google that. Its a hybrid call center that delivers prerecorded messages, by weaving though reception, phone menus, and extention numbers. Its more inteligent than a voice broadcast system.

Depends on who/what type of business you are calling. If you are calling medium to larger companies, yes...it's a waste of your marketing dollars.

But if you are approaching the small, brick and mortar/retail and service businesses.....you'll reach the decision makers all day long, with the right data base and experienced marketing professional.

Hi Kelly, yes you are correct. It highly depends on your database of contacts.

We have been serviceing clients who use voice broadcasting for 14 years. we are developers and service providers of such software. Most of our clients who used voice broadcasting were using it for B2C purposes.

Now with new FTC laws against voice broadcasting, it gives voice broadcasting a negative PR, unfortunately, even if you have written permission. However there are some die hards that still need such a service becuase its faster than mail, flyers or postcards. And its accurate with 100% message delivery. As mentioned above the service is called "voicemail courier", and its legal becuase every pre-recorded message is handled by a live agent, and you dont need written permission.

This may be a valuable solution for some businesses that need to send pre-recorded messages and dont have written permission. More can be seen at voicelogic (dot) com

With full compliance, B2B can still be done quite efficiently and probably the most cost effective method of creating "right now", live prospects.:1laugh:
