Would a service that automatically adds/swaps articles on your website be worth the money relative to increasing the number of organic searches/site visitors?

From a time point of view it is tempting to automate this rather than making regular blog entries.

Are blogs given more weight on page ranking than simply adding keyword rich articles?

Blogging software tends to have an SEO-friendly linking structure. Also people tend to blog more frequently than the write articles.

I think that those are the reasons why blogs do so well.

Other than the internal linking structure, I don't see a fundamental difference between articles and blogs from an SEO standpoint.

What makes a blog have a more friendly linking structure? I really don't see any difference between the two, except articles are usually longer.
I think you should automate, and do the blogging as well. Build a fountain of knowledge for the consumers wanting to learn, and blog to stay recent and to add rich content.
