So why did Wellcare cut commissions?

I know that was the answer that I got from Pyramid for certain counties.

I would like to talk to you about the Kansas City market.

WellCare has not cut commissions. They had in place a agent bonus of
$75.00 per application for 1/1/07 business on top of the $250.00 agent
commission. If you wrote 100 apps for 1/1/07 business then your comp was bumped another $25.00 for a total of $350.00 per approved CMS app.

There is a new bonus plan in the works for 2/1/07 business going forward.
The details have not been announced yet, but hopefully I will know on 2/12
what the new commission details are.

The WellCare contract has always been $250.00 per app with a bonus on top of it.

Looks like Wellcare bit off more then it can chew and does not want any more apps. Rather then close enrollment and get a bad rap from the public, they would rather make it unattractable for agents to sell. They do not loose face and do not have to worry about a lot of apps.

I can assure you that is not correct.

I inquired about Wellcare through an FMO last week, and he sent me a 27- page contract to sign. Wow! I am wading through it, but so far it doesn't look good.

"Wellcare FMO"... if you see this, how's about sending me a PM with your contact info. It would be interesting to compare yours with the other.

I suggest STRONGLY that you obtain a "release if requested" before you sign up with any FMO.

WellCare requires a 6 month wait to change FMOs in the absence of a release.

(I suggest this for ALL business that goes thru the FMO system with ANY carrier).
