What happens when someone cancels their PC policy relative to my commission?

In other words...when is my commission earned?

Do you get paid as earned...or is there a advance agreement?

that depends, what is your commission structure? usually you will need to know your company policy to see what the procedure is. My company pays me about 2-4 weeks after the policy closes and if it cancels it charges back on me the commissions.

P&C business is almost universally paid as earned...

You must live in an alternate universe, because all my companies pay me when its written, then again at renewal. Cancellations are charged back.

The same holds true for my agency across all companies. Paid as written and then cancellations are charged back.
