what is best path to six figures/yr in new insurance career

Your missed the point.

The issue is working on a system that you can do again and again AND improve over time even if it is sub optimal in the beginning.

This is as opposed to doing a Project 100 that ends when you run out of friends and family. Or doing random things such that you can't remember and/or duplicate the things that led to the sales you made.

There is a big difference between "doesn't work" and "works, even if it works poorly." The other pertinent part was "so long as it can be improved upon."

I'm not sure very many companies/agents, etc. would agree that replicating a system that doesn't work is a good model for success.

I see, sorry for the misunderstanding.

The "Secret of Success" is that there is no secret. You have to work hard. You have to work really hard to get started.

Come on Alston! They're on to us. Tell them the truth!

Here's what we do:

1. Roll out of bed around 10:30 AM with a major hangover
2. Carb up for the day with 3-bowls of Coco-flavored Cornie Puffs and wash it back with Mountain Dew.
3. Check our web site for all the leads that came in overnight and bought insurance by just pointing and clicking. Usually 4 or 5 of those for an average of $1500 to $4,000 commish
4. Head to the golf course with a shirt or hat that promotes you are an insurance agent. People on the golf course usually see that and want to come over and discuss all thier policies. They usually buy one or two from you and give you a list of hot referals. Be prepared to buy a round of drinks though.
5. The real go-getters will put a sign on their car and that way people will pull you over and buy policies from you.

That's it! That's what we do.

These guys that say it takes a lot of hard work are just trying to scare you off.

What you want is a list of people who don't have group insurance, but that can afford to purchase individual insurance.

That list doesn't exist, but you can come close by getting a list of self employed people or business owners with 0-3 employees.

To a point, anyone is a candidate for insurance, your neighbor, the self employed, unemployed (short term), a group member (adding wife and kids is brutal), COBRA (with zero or minor conditions of course) insured or not, it's all out there for the taking.
