I've always put same sex couples relationships on the app as friends. But a lady today insisted on partner. Do others put life partner for this type of relationship and does it fly with company's?

I've always used partner. Only company to ever give me an issue was RNA. And they wanted it clarified as domestic partner or business partner.:goofy:

I always put domestic partner. This is true for same sex or for couples that aren't married. Never had an issue. I did have problems with Fiance.

Never had a company question any variation of the answers given. "Significant other, life partner, partner, etc."

I have seen "friend" questioned many times. I try to avoid that if at all possible and find some other way to classify the relationship.

If they are married, they are husband and husband or wife and wife. My married gay clients and friends refer to themselves with those terms.

For what it is worth, I've never liked the term "partner" in this context because it is too ambiguous. "Life partner" makes the relationship clear, but the term is out of vogue.

I often use wife or husband
At times, with some co's i use estate and change it after pol issue
