What to Do After Aflac?

Alright guys, spare me the ridicule for signing up with Aflac (I found this site after getting stuck in their traps).

Basically, I did everything that was needed: passed my Accident & Health Insurance Licensing on the first try, attended the Aflac sales trainings, did thousands of cold calls, canvassed tons of businesses. I was there for 4 weeks (working roughly 10-12 hours a day) and got no where.

So now I'm stuck with this health insurance license. Which direction should I go in now? I figured it'd be better to ask you guys, the knowledgeable, before I go out and do something on a hunch.

A little about myself, incase you need to know. I'm only 20 years old, going to school part-time still for a degree in Business Administration, with a focus in Accounting. I don't have my AAS degree yet, but I will have it by Spring 2010. I have very limited sales experience (only 3 months experience while at Walmart - if you can even count that).

I am pretty young with a lot of sales experience when I got into Insurance. If you're motivated, well spoken and will dedicate yourself to being successful than you can make it as an indy health agent.
If you're going to party, don't care about a career, are not self motivated etc. than this is probably a pre-mature career move for you.

I work with a team in Health Choice One, if you want me to pass your info along to learn a bit more email me [email protected]

But...What To Do After Health Insurance???

Lets play worst case dooms day scenario and there is no place for health insurance in 5 years. I'll have a book of clients who I can prospect life, supplemental, p&c whatever I want. I'm not worried about that to be honest. If you're a top notch health producer now you'll find some avenue to focus your efforts and be just as successful

I always said the same thing, now I'm actually trying to do just that now instead of waiting until I'm forced to change (if change ever does become necessary). I like selling health insurance, but enjoy the life/securities side much more. So, I figured now is as good of time as any while my health renewals pay the bills. I'll admit, it's not as easy as I expected. The jury is still out, but I think it's going to work out just fine.

Fortunately, I took care of my clients and kept in touch. If you didn't, you're list of health policy holders won't have much value. Even so, it's still a process to go from the health guy to getting a shot at their other business.

Very true, I'm starting to learn med supps myself right now and plan to start selling in the next couple of months. Never hurts to hedge against a potential loss
