The weird thing, ironic even, is that population growth and dropping birth rates are simultaneously big problems.

The real issue is that generally (and this is a broad generalization) those that are more able to care for children aren't having kids, and those that can't, are. Again, big generalization, but mostly true.

Fodder for the endless wars. The ones they don't abort, of course.

Yep, Rick openly attacked and cussed at Sam and Sti.

That was a 3 way street. They were dicks to him at times too. Not saying that he didn't win that battle to see who the biggest prick was, but they certainly played the game as well. They did give him a lot of rope, but they were also just waiting in the wings for it to eventually happen too. So, in the end, there was no one out of the 3 that were innocent.
