I like the fact that this forum is a little unprofessional. It's good for all who participate.

You're welcome. ;)

But part of the value of this forum is dissenting opinions about the various subjects. Various experiences brings various opinions. Having your opinion challenged pushes you to think deeper and either confirm your opinion or reassess your position

Unless you're not a fan of annuities or IUL's. Then you become considered a low life by some people...

For Christ sake, I'm joking with you Scagnt...please don't give me a monologue ;)

Can I give you a lecture instead? What about a sermon? Or a descant? Or a disquisition or harangue? Can I send it to you by postcard? :1tongue: :1wink:

Not so much as in the context of meeting with folks, but i have seen text be very effective in prospecting follow ups. Clients who said they wanted to do something and then can't be pinned down for an appointment or don't return call get a text that reads something like this:
"I've tried to contact/schedule you several times to follow up on your ____________ matter. I like to be persistent but not a bother, so please respond if you'd like to move forward . If not I won't other you further."

If they are serious, A response is guaranteed, if not -better to know sooner rather than later.

Same here. Also many will respond to a text at work where they they may not take a call. That and I believe text is not only the realm of the snot noses. Many of my senior clients text as well.

Really wherever is comfortable for them. Like others have already stated here, I prefer their home. It's more of a hassle for you because you need to plan your day accordingly but it helps build a more trusting relationship, keeps them happy and you get to see their propert for a better read in what you will be insuring!

Now that things have cooled down a little,
I check their temperature and will meet at there office or Starbucks for the initial presentation. I only use TXT to confirm follow up appointments and that is after asking them if txting is ok.

Generally, the home of a client would be the best place to meet. Reason being is. when in the home of somebody, they feel more in control. In my opinion makes, them more willing to make impulse buys so they can show dominance and authority. Also the fact that they have accepted you into their home means the trust is there and thats key for having longevity in a relationship. You can look around relate to their personal belongings and get them talking about personal experiences which creates a friendship environment which boosts trust and almost a sense of obligation to really listen to what the opportunity they are being given.
