Will These Numbers Work in FE

I closed him on a $60 Foresters app.

Guy bought a $128 policy himself and a $30 policy for his wife through Columbian earlier that month.

I would save him -- if I remember correctly -- $12-$15 per month if he canceled his existing policy. And yes, I told him I could get his money refunded.

Couldn't beat his wife's rate (she's 39, he's 63) with a Monu app.

They weren't too concerned about switching with only that much of a difference.

I certainly tried, that's for sure. At that point, I sensed if I pushed him beyond what I had already tried, I might lose my opportunity for anything. More of a subtle gut-feeling as to handle this situation.

Certainly wasn't taking an order.

Did you look at Essential Life for both of them? Of course that's a difficult approve.

Don't know what product/company that is, JD. What is it?

That's RNA's fully underwritten whole life. It used to be called Royal Prime. Not a better priced whole life out there.

I replaced a Genworth UL today with Essential Life. The lady just took out the UL a few weeks ago. The Essential life was $10/mo more, but it's whole life. The UL wasn't even a GUL.

The agent sold it on the guarantees. I guess he never thought she would actually read the policy?

Another serial mailer?

$15 dollars a month and then you throw in all the Foresters member benefits, like free wills etc. Whats his name let me talk to him!

lol

when I worked for combined insurance in 1982 they had memorized rebutals for just about every situation. The one for this situation ended like this.

"If you want the right check get the right policy"

Just be careful building too much hype into those FREE benefits. I've had them backfire when people called for their FREE legal appt and were very UNDERwhelmed with it. It made them think they were not with a good company.

Yeah and I want $500. There is a big difference between what someone wants and what they can afford especially with some of these folks mentality.

This case may be different but I suspect the agent who sells folks policies based on what they truly can afford VS. how great a salesman they are with getting people to spend the most money will have a longer shelf life in this business.

Insurance is a career where being a good salesperson is just one aspect of the business. It's also about doing the right thing and sometimes it is for no charge at all, charity if you will. Just because a prospect or client "wants" something doesn't mean I'm gonna sell it to him. If it is the wrong fit for them I'll tell them I can't and they will have to contact somebody else.

I provide the bast value for their premium dollar not not the best value for me based on their premium dollar and the value being the product which will be in force when they need it most not one they really couldn't afford but they "wanted".

Agreed, totally.

The poster is preoccupied with numbers and his own perspective on the sales process (i.e. "maximing profit on every deal", etc), which, frankly, isn't important.

This is indicative of that type of folk who won't make it because their focus on the wrong things leaves them frustrated and bored when the numbers don't fall their way and, in his case, immediately.

What he wants from each sit-down is not important in the least. What is important is finding out what is important and necessary for the client, not his own commission and back pocket.

I've yet to see him address his client's needs yet, only how they could be used as a vehicle for his own gain, instead of realizing he should do what's right on each deal and the profits will materialize automatically.

This poster is setting himself up for a very frustrating experience and a quick exit.

First off, its so easy to see his customers will see him as merely some hawk looking for a fresh kill, which will put them off and frustrate his efforts.

Secondly..................48 weeks.........who plans to take a month off in their first year in the insurance (or mortgage) business?

Lastly, he just seems to have the wrong mindset and would appear to view his clients simply as a means to an end. Such a viewpoint isn't conducive to building long-term relationships. Its a coarse viewpoint and people like that never stick.

The Legal thing is not all that, but a lot of the other things they offer and do are very good.

When the tornado came to Griffin Ga and destroyed a lot of homes and people lifes, Foresters was there to help them. They gave everyone that had a policy with them that had storm damage $2,000. I sure was proud of the free benefit then.

Some of the Free Benefits, are not worth anything, but some of them are.

I've been on a couple different playground builds, and listen to star94 here In Atlanta GA, where they help raise over $4,000,000 for Children Health Care of Atlanta and Scotish Rite.

I talk a lot about the benefits that I believe that matter the most to them. The playground up the road from my office, Foresters spent over $78,000 on it. They do at least 2 of them a year in most states.
