Will These Numbers Work in FE

The Legal thing is not all that, but a lot of the other things they offer and do are very good.
When the tornado came to Griffin Ga and destroyed a lot of homes and people lifes, Foresters was there to help them. They gave everyone that had a policy with them that had storm damage $2,000. I sure was proud of the free benefit then.
I've been on a couple different playground builds, and listen to star94 here In Atlanta GA, where they help raise over $4,000,000 for Children Health Care of Atlanta and Scotish Rite.

I talk a lot about the benefits that I believe that matter the most to them. The playground up the road from my office, Foresters spent over $78,000 on it. They do at least 2 of them a year in most states.

That is awesome! Yes things like that should be talked about.

I just always want to under promise and over deliver.

When agents build too much hype on free will kits, funeral consumer benefit societies, or even an irrevocable funeral trust they are not selling the REAL benefit which is the Guaranteed DEATH benefit.

If you make the sale based on the actual insurance product and all the rest is an "we also provide for free..." you have a VERY solid sale.

dont sell the steak sell the sizzle!

I have had people pay more money for a Foresters policy because of the member benefits.

Agreed, totally.

The poster is preoccupied with numbers and his own perspective on the sales process (i.e. "maximing profit on every deal", etc), which, frankly, isn't important.

This is indicative of that type of folk who won't make it because their focus on the wrong things leaves them frustrated and bored when the numbers don't fall their way and, in his case, immediately.

What he wants from each sit-down is not important in the least. What is important is finding out what is important and necessary for the client, not his own commission and back pocket.

I've yet to see him address his client's needs yet, only how they could be used as a vehicle for his own gain, instead of realizing he should do what's right on each deal and the profits will materialize automatically.

This poster is setting himself up for a very frustrating experience and a quick exit.

First off, its so easy to see his customers will see him as merely some hawk looking for a fresh kill, which will put them off and frustrate his efforts.

Secondly..................48 weeks.........who plans to take a month off in their first year in the insurance (or mortgage) business?

Lastly, he just seems to have the wrong mindset and would appear to view his clients simply as a means to an end. Such a viewpoint isn't conducive to building long-term relationships. Its a coarse viewpoint and people like that never stick.

Yeah no kidding. Who the hell would work that much. Take 8 weeks off. You should be able to afford that your first year. I figure my goals on a 42 week year.

What I'm missing in those numbers are expenses. I don't think mailers will be the only one. Gas and vehicle maintenance come to mind, I'm sure there's got to be others.

I don't see anything wrong with the four weeks of vacation in a year, especially when he (or she) is talking about 50+hour weeks or 'whatever it takes' and is working the time off in his numbers. What's the point of working so hard and making so much money if you will never have the time to enjoy it with your family? More toys? A bigger house? Retiring earlier? Each of us has their own priorities, I guess.

"Just be careful building too much hype into those FREE benefits. I've had them backfire when people called for their FREE legal appt and were very UNDERwhelmed with it. It made them think they were not with a good company."

I called them and they are preparing a will for me for free. I havent got it yet. They said it was in the mail!

NICE! A mail order Will. Good luck with that.

as long as I can keep them separate I think I will be ok. I just don't want to have a mail order will on my mail order bride. I just wouldn't feel safe

I must be certain these numbers will work before making the leap.

When I started back in the dark ages (40 years ago) with a debit (Home Service) company, I given a formula.. 40/15/5.. $0 honest, to goodness, face to face contacts where you actually ask for an interview will result in 15 interviews. 15 interviews conducted under favorable circumstances where the client is actually asked to buy will result in 5 sales.. Worked in debit business, worked in the med supp business and worked in the final expense business.. In fact, it worked as long as I did. I have gone back to work recently and find it still works.. Doesn't matter if I make those forty contacts running leads, referrals or cold calling..It all averages out the same over the course of a year.

If you contact 40 leads and only get 5 sales something is wrong with your salesmanship.
