I’ll agree with this and Medicare waa is wrong . The reason I know this is uhc has blanketed my areas with mailers and I’ve gotten 40 calls from clients do they need to call . All these older people on Facebook now and respond to ads . United can take 1/3 those commission savings and blanket advertise all aep

I don’t think you’ve worked for any of these carriers. First, they don’t have enough of their own agents to handle the enrollments they need each year. Second, their cost per acquisition is no cheaper than via brokers. It’s often higher.

If they pinch brokers, it’ll be soft dollars and overrides.

Doctors dont like MAPD payment structure which will be a downhill spiral financially for insurers. Removing freebies and comp to agents will be cost cutting measures. Common sense.

Trying to stir up shit like the rest of them. While we are out putting millions more on MAPD’s they are all here trying to bash them and convince themselves they are better off then we are. I work 8 weeks a year and golf and travel the other weeks. What a terrible business to be in, Especially when I have to take an hour a year to do AHIP which an 8th grader could pass.

I consider myself very proficient with the computer. In most cases involving insurance I don’t fully understand I am always on the phone talking with an agent. The younger generation is even dumber and have to be spoon fed everything. They scroll the computer but don’t use it to actually research or gain knowledge. Our jobs will be fine. People are getting dumber not smarter.

The vast majority of Americans could do their taxes themselves too. IRS even has a free service they can use. People still pay hundreds of dollars to have someone else do it for them. They can also go online and purchase almost all other common types of insurance themselves. Auto, life, ACA.

There have been several attempts to eliminate the agent. None have been remarkably successful. Remember Esurance? Lemonade?

Insurance is complex to most laypersons, and the vast number of options is intimidating. Most will always prefer the guidance of a knowledgeable professional.

The only real threat to our careers is singlepayer.
