33 Gun Purchases - No Red Flags

No, I wouldn't debate it, it makes sense. The whole point should be, why are they having so many suicides, who cares how they do it.

I would imagine the states with the most cars have the most auto accidents. WTF difference does that make.

The states that you point to in the article are some of the poorest states in the country, there are reasons for the suicides.

How about you find a way to help the suicidal, instead of worrying about if they are going to do it by pills, hammer or gun?

I would also surmise that these poorer states wouldn't want to impede on potential local business success, which may explain why they have the loosest gun restrictions (if any).

Well, If the suicide rate has something to do with darkness then you would expect Iceland and Norway to have huge problems. I would also expect southern tip of Argentina and Chile to also have this problem. A google search shows, there are so many variations. Hungary has a higher suicide than any of them. Greeks have one of the lowest. Canada and US have pretty much the same rate and Canada gets a lot less sunshine than USA.

There is an easy way to fix this problem. Remove the protections given to gun manufacturers for liability and let the courts and supreme court decide what is reasonable amount of restriction and deal with the issue of privacy and self protection. Right now, there is no incentive for gun manufacturers to do any reasonable compromise, they are exempt from liability thanks to US Congress. Their sales usually go up after mass shootings so they will say as little as possible and move on.

So I'm sure you missed the post about how other countries that imposed stricter gun regulations saw dramatic decreases in murders and suicides.

That is a very slippery slope, you would open the door of automakers to being sued for what someone does in a car. Knife makers, alcohol brewers, and every other manufacturer could be sued for what someone does with their products.

As far as darkness and suicide, the studies aren't hard to find. The lack of sunshine does bad things to a persons mind.

That's a cold blooded assumption you're making, that poorer states put business success ahead of human lives. That's evil.

I can match you story for story that says the opposite. You choose what ever article fits your narrative.

It still comes down to the person.
I am sure you missed the news where the shooter had explosives.

Of course they do! Ever been to Kentucky to see their drive-thru liquor stores? That doesn't mean that the STATE is responsible, or does it?

There are many fake news stories you can cite to refute math and science, right wing people do it all of the time. You don't get points for fake news.

I can't say I've ever been to Kentucky. I am not surprised at a drive through liquor store. It's tacky but not really egregious.

If you want to find truly reprehensible state policies just look up black lung and coal mine slurry. The way the people of Appalachia have been treated his horrific.
