After perusing this thread, it reminds me of what I have thought for many years about this industry... salesmen are far, far too often "sold".
Had an old trainer in my younger days explain it sort of like this, "This is a job where a vast majority of the people you speak to don't want to speak to you. The subject your talking to them about is one they don't want to really discuss. The product your pitching is something they don't want to have to pay for."
When someone comes along and makes it sound; easy, fun, and unbelievably profitable...
