A Question Regarding Script Checks.

I was told by Mary at DIMA and verified by Alvin at Trinity/FBL that isosorbide and carvedilol would always be automatic declines.

That's what happened. it couldn't have been for the reason. The guy told them he didn't take it.

I don't believe they will take someone that uses it. If I had known about it before hand then we wouldn't have gone that route anyway.

Carvedilol for HBP= preferred
Carvedilol for CHF= decline

I get clients through with Carvedilol ALL THE TIME as preferred.

Maybe it was the combo of the 2 that did it?

I agree, that is what the rx chart indicates, but I did call an uw a few weeks ago and he told me isosorbide was an auto decline...he never even got the chance to pull the rx or mib checks, I just called him up and asked about it....doesnt really make sense due to it being accepted on the rx chart as well.

As usual thanks for the info Spur.

This might come as a shock to you but companies don't always do what they say they will do.;)

I've heard of 2 RNA voice sig apps in the last few weeks where a decision was not given at the end of the interview.

Besides what Spur said here about getting a Trinity approved when the person took isorbide I heard that from another agent in Ohio too. He got it approved.

They told me isorbide by itself is a decline.

Good news, it's not on AmCon's new drug list. Yet.

Was wondering something else....

If a company checks meds does it leave any indication that they have checked? In other words.... will a second company checking see that the 1st company has already looked. Like credit checks do.

Sometimes the best thing to do is just do the PHI and see if it gets approved. I have placed many a case at graded that I was surprised were approved with several carriers. But you are right JD, its a jungle out there in carrier land:D

Then they need to update their freaking RX chart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alvin acknowledged that the RX list needs to be updated. Carvedilol OK for HBP may have changed since I talked to them, but at that time, both isosorbide and carvedilol were going to be knockouts.
