AEP Commissions

BCBS of Georgia typically pays commissions the month AFTER the effective date. So anything effective January 1st won't be paid until February. At least that's how they've done in the past. Can't imagine it will change now. Not saying BCBS of Illinois is that way, but it is here in Georgia.

You are right. Here in Illinois (and with HCSC affiliates in TX, OK, NM, and MT) commission payments will go out AFTER February 15th. Somebody's milking the "float" for all its worth.:skeptical:

Does Coventry pay every Friday?

Not here in Georgia. They sent out an email last week stating that there was a glitch in the system regarding renewal payments and they would be paid by the end of January. My renewal payments for Coventry MA was paid once per month last year. Usually around the middle of the month.

You've asked a ton of questions about Coventry. Have you talked with the carrier, your broker rep or your FMO?

What a great idea?.............:err:

Here it is the 22 of Jan, and I have yet to recieve any commission from Aetna, or Piedmont Wellstar! :((

PW generally pays the month AFTER the effective date. So anything effective 1/1/15 won't pay until some time in February. I have no idea on Aetna. I haven't seen anything from them nor have I called to see when they pay.

I didn't think about them paying a month after! But you would think since it was written in 2014, that Jan would be the month! I called my FMO, and there reply was, when they pay us we will pay you...

They've pretty much always paid the month after the effective date. BCBSGA does it too. It doesn't matter when it was written. All that matters is the effective date. If you were to write someone in January whose Medicare didn't start until March 1, you wouldn't get paid until April. Just the nature of the beast with some companies.

Regarding Aetna 2015 commissions. No one in our office has been paid a dime. We have called weekly for 3 weeks. The response is always,"we are doing a commission run again this week" Monday I had someone at Aetna pull up my cases and could not tell me why they had not paid.

She promised to call me back my the next morning. Guess she lost my phone number as I never got a call. My upline told me that Coventry was handling Aetna's commissions. That is probably the problem. Coventry perfected glitches.

Interesting since I've already been paid on my Coventry AEP business. And given the contracting fiasco with Aetna this past AEP that virtually every agent had, I think the problem falls at Aetna's feet. Especially since they own Coventry. Your upline laying the blame on Coventry is kinda laughable.
