First AEP under my belt but what is next?

Telesales persistency is 50-60% max over 12 months . You're dealing with dirt poor dsnp's in a call center . Guys like me face to face eat that for breakfast and dinner. I hate to tell you this as the truth hurts. You'll never make any decent money working leads in mapd in 48 states . Again you're dealing with low income and that must be sold face to face or you got no chance . You need to find a way to sell a little higher income if your going to succeed in telesales
I knew DonP would pop in here at some point. I'm already making decent money but it's not worth the the time I spend doing it. I'd be perfectly content making 6-8k a month if I could work 20-30 hours a week doing it. I can do that in life insurance as well. But I don't want to sell life insurance. And there probably isn't enough guys like you that I have to worry about my business going.

Do you have anything to positive to contribute to this thread?

TBH, I would go out on my own if I were you. You should be at the point where you know more than enough about Medicare to be your own boss.

As others have mentioned, you're just making the business owners wealthy. Why not make that your money?

I agree with you I'm just not sure how to do that. Do I just reach out to each carrier I'm already with and file an intent to transfer?

And then there's the marketing side I have no idea where to start there.

Is it possible to mix in telesales on my own drawing from my current clients and referrals?

You'll need to contract with a IMO/FMO and then do your contracting. Many wont give you direct contracts, with exceptions.

Its definitely possible to do telesales on your own while working your current book, however you might want to see what rules your current company has...there's a good chance that is their book and you might have issues continuing working that clientele.

That's good to hear, I'm no stranger to contracting if I have help from a marketing org.

I assumed their might be some difficulty working my current clients but I do have my own individual logins with each carrier and can see all of my business. I'm not sure how they would take that from me. Also my clients bought from Me so I'm the brand and I rarely ever mentioned the name of the company that employs me.

What state are you in?

w2 agent . . . ready to go 1099 so I don't have to give up so much commission. . . paid 19 per hour . . . content making 6-8k a month if I could work 20-30 hours a week doing it . . . I now have 48 states . . . And then there's the marketing side I have no idea where to start there. . . .might be some difficulty working my current clients

$19 x 30 hours = $570 per week

You will be content making $6k+ per month . . . while working 30 hours per week covering 4 time zones. Impressive!!

No clue how to market, and presumably have no idea how much self promotion costs or which ones will produce the highest ROI.

Might be "some difficulty" working with current clients.

These call centers spend thousands if not millions of dollars in lead generation to support their W2 employees. I can tell you marketing is the hard part of this industry and is what seperates us independent agents from being successful in this business or going bust. . Good luck.

Agree with you there too. 3rd option is to contract directly and do all my own marketing and lead gen and work another job till I figure it out. I can make money, I have a ton of different skills but sales do it faster and spend less time doing it. I'm just tired of making wealth for other people and having to spend more time working and less time with my family.

The whole reason I got into insurance 4 years ago was because of the time freedom.

Idk what to do.
TBH become a P&C agent and AEP will be a bonus. You'll have to market anyway and have a CRM.
