Agent Compensation To Change

Our glory days are behind us for many of us. I see much lower comish. How low? Anyone's guess at this point.
The agents that need advances, small producers, FMO's, GA's, MGA's, these folks better freshen up the resume.
My guess for the future is all your contracts will be direct and you better have heavy production or bye bye.
California Major Risk pays me a $50 finders fee. I rec the check @ 5 months after enrollment.
The PDP carriers I contract with pay me peanuts.
Be prepared to do more for less.

The agents who need to get an advanced 20% comp check next week so they can get more minutes on their cell will be out of business.

To be candid, getting these jabronis out of the business is a positive move. I mean really, ever read some of the posts from these barely-literate nitwits?

The barriers to entry have been sooooooo low.

MHIP pays me a flat $100. My '08 checks should be coming in any time now.

Man, with changes in health care, changes in MA plans and upcoming changes in annuities it's going to be hard for these con artists to make a living in insurance.

Agreed. Who says they do. What carriers can do is jack the rates through the ceiling from Sept 23rd until the exchanges open and just go into a holding pattern on individual business.

Not to mention that guys that prey on agents income. Had one of these jokers call me the other day to let me in on a deal. For the low price of $3800, he was going to set me up with a lead generation site. I wanted to say something, but kept quiet.

There are so many suckers out there, it's just unbelievable. From reading the board, I guess there's been a good bit of business for them. It's mind boggling that so many agents actually believe that they are going to generate leads for a few thousand dollars.

Clarification from Janet Trautwein (NAHU).

Some of you have asked questions about the May 18 Wall Street Journal article where I was quoted relative to per member per month commission payments. Please be assured that this is not a direct quote and was pulled from a long discussion that encompassed more than two days. In fact, any time you read news items, you should be aware that what you read is a very condensed version of the actual interview, and does not paint a complete picture of the topic being reported. And in spite of the very best intentions of reporters, editors frequently cut their columns. So please do not be concerned that this in any way is anything more than a discussion in trends we are seeing, particularly in light of the increased pressure presented due to the new MLR requirements.

Don't doubt the Traut!
