American Income Life Insurance

For educational purposes, could someone give us a better rundown on exactly what products they have and what they tend to sell the most of?
From what I could tell, through the interview, it was basically life insurance and maybe some critical illness or cancer thrown in there, package deal, I cannot recall exactly, but I am a debit guy and I target the household premiums at $20-$40 per month, and the AIL manager was telling me they sell $80-$100 per month targets. So to have a poster above me saying he always made $1300 per week, that does not surprise me one bit. Now, I don't know if it is UL or term or Whole Life, the posters above me can answer that.

I concur with the last two posts. I worked there for a while and was able to make some money, but the wear and tear on my vehicle and the long hours were too much. I incurred a lot of traveling and it was a bullshit product.

What you describe is what I experienced.

I mainly sold term and whole life, ail does not have a UL that I am aware of. I doubt some AIL managers have any idea how a UL works...:D

It was small amounts of term and WL.
That is up my alley. I like to sell small policies, and I like having an office and a manager to go to... I may wish to try it sometime.... I just cannot get past the fact that they are a torchmark company, like LibNat and UA. Who knows, I would never rule anything out. But, it's hard to "rule in" a torchmark company.

Look, torchmark does have their share of branches that are scum, but what company doesn't I have walked into some trash offices for MOO, AGLA, NYL, etc...

If you wanna sell small policies to blue collar workers then call AIL, just be prepared to work 60 hours a week and every Saturday, or at least every other Saturday. You will have certain days that you must be in the office in order to call, Monday and Thursday I believe, they will have Sales "pep rallys" or "meetings" which ever your prefer on that day also. Heck, they even give 300.00 for your health insurance and gas allowance if you write 5K AV a month.

If you just wanna produce then don't buy into the "rah rah" stuff or drink the koolaid.

I have never really seen "trash offices" for AGLA and MOO and NYL. As a matter of fact, the office here in Austin for NYL is top notch, and the MOO office in San Antonio is nice. So is the AGLA office. If you mean the people or the management are trash, well, you may have a point at some of these places. But, on the whole, I have found that the trash seems to gravitate towards the torchmark brand more than it would those other brands. In general. But I agree, it is probably easy to ignore the rah rah and just go produce, if you are comfortable in doing that. At any office.

[Yes, I have seen "trash offices" at all of those places. I mean managers, partners, agents, employees however you wish to label them as.

Well I just replaced one of their policies last night, it wasn't even close to being competitive. IT was a couple in their early 30's who were sold an AIL policy on the husband. It was a $40,000 whole life for $76 a month.

I sold them a $300,000 term on him, $100,000 on her, and a $10,000 whole life on the child. All that and they are still going to pay $200 a year less than the AIL policy.

None of the AIL products are competitive but they really don't have to be. You are their union endorsed insurance person. It is much the same as what AARP does.
