Anyone Work for Ameri-life?

I had to become a member of this forum to clarify a few things concerning amerilife. Retread your facts are not all correct in your assessment of amerilife. For 1 the career agency is captive/independent not employee even though they behave like the agents are. AMERILIFE > there are no seperate parts all one and the same. Started by gary raymond boesch look him up in google . amerilife was bought about 2 years ago by black diamond capital in late 2007. gary made about 200mil on the sale. he was stripped of his florida license for cheating seniors google it. univerasal american even owns/owned a part of it.
this company was family owned until gary had to by law distance himself from the business that why he is not in any of their publications

there is a lot more however the culture at amerilife will not change. they are all one regardless of how many different names you hear the all answer to tim north. trust me when i say there is ALOT more. all the comments from ex agents could be wrong but you be the judge based on the facts.

I don't know who you are, or what axe you want to grind, but it seems like you are hung up on Boesche. I think your "facts" need a little massaging...

Boesche, et al, sold their interest in a TPA called AMERICAN INSURANCE ADMINISTRATION GROUP, INC to Universal American (UAFC) in 2000. UAFC is headed up by Barasch, not Boesche.

Yes, Black Diamond Capital Partners (along with Reservoir Capital Group) invested in AmeriLife in 2007, along with TIm North, CEO and other senior execs at AmeriLIfe. It should be noted that one of the corporate members of Black Diamond Capital Partners is the former Insurance Commissioner of Texas, Jose Montemayor. He is also a board member on AmeriLife as are other members of Black Diamond.... I would think he lends some respectability to the governance of AmeriLife Group.

I see no link to Boesche at AmeriLife, if ever there was one. At the time Black Diamond, et al, took major ownership of AmeriLife, there is no record of Boesche being involved, so I doubt he made a nickel, let alone $200 mil or it would be filed as public record.

You and others continue to beef about AmeriLife, but it falls on deaf ears of us independents. Those looking for jobs as captive agents may well be cautioned. I think this holds true of any captive agency. But I and other independents have not had the experience those of you who have been burned on the captive side. I can empathize with you, but your rant about Boesche seems misinformed, and your broad brush complaint about AmeriLife as if it were one organization is getting old. I do not work for AmeriLife, nor do I want to. I have no dog in this hunt, but I do have a contract through AmeriLife, and have not had them interfere with my business at all. My point made in other posts, is that many independents are contracted through them, even though some do not realize it. This may be a good thing.... as long as they stay out of our business, that's a good thing.

Look retread, obviously I know a lot more than i choose to go into here on this forum. I have no special axe to grind with amerilife as they will take care of themselves. I followed this post and chose to become involved to aid those who were seeking additional info not to turn YOU away from amerilife. If you are happy good for you, enjoy your relationship with them/us hahaha. However you may not have read the post about the agents who were vectored and the office closed down without good notice. These people are human beings trying to make a living as agents. I live in florida were it all began. amerilife was started by gary boesch and family 37 yrs ago from his trailer. When I say google him that is for YOU to do your homework and find out about the history and culture prevalent at amerilife, all these agents cant be wrong use your head. I purposely dont post more details because I would definitely have a axe to grind. LOOK unless you have worked at the clearwater homeoffice or work as a career agent you can not speak on these matters because you may not have had any of those experiences. Dont call the agents/ exagents liars. For your info boesch sold amerilife just ask them yourself. he was stripped of his license just ask them. some of his children boesch by name were part of the management until the co. was sold because he was barred from day2day operation just ask them. and oh by the way it was around 200mil give or take that went to him just ask them. and no I wont post evidence of this cause im not here to hold anybody hands a lot of this is my fmi. JUST CALL ANY FMO IMO AND ASK THEM ABOUT AMERILIFE AND HOW THEY TREAT THEIR AGENTS AND THEIR REPUTATION AMONGST THEM AND HEAR WHAT THEY SAY TO YOU DONT BELIEVE ANYONE CALL FOR YOURSELF IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH> IF NOT BE HAPPY THAT YOUR MARRIAGE WITH WHATEVER PART OF AMLIFE IS GREAT AND STOP TRYING TO MAKE THE AGENTS POSTING HERE OUT TO BE LIARS OR JUST CRAZY> TRUST THIS IF YOU WORK THERE OR AT ONE TIME DID< NOT THE WAY YOU DO NOW> YOU WOULD BE AMONGST THEM AND BY THE WAY MOST OF THEM ARE HOLDING BACK ALSO ON DETAILS ALSO> EVER WONDER WHY RAINWATER STOPPED POSTING HERE ABOUT AMLIFE< KITCHEN GOT A LITTLE TOO HOT WITH THE TRUTH> OR FABLES AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO THINK. sorry but I just dont think you know the full story.

Hi all! I would like to respond to 3 of you...

Retread, I would like to respond to your post first.

I get that you are happy as an independent agent working with Amerilife when you need to. Your comments throughout this thread have only strengthened my decision to never work as a captive agent again. I am resourceful enough that I think that I would do well as an independent agent. My beef is with the career agency as that is the only experience with Amerilife that I have.

Landandseadog, you're up next.

Regarding having your vector removed, you need to take this a little further. I know this because this is what we have done and it works! We sent our dispute of the vector, by fax, to VectorOne. They sent a letter to Amerilife giving them a deadline to show proof (as you also asked Amerilife to do) and if they didn't respond by a certain date, the vector would be removed. Of course, Amerilife couldn't respond so the vector was removed. Good luck!

Afleck, last but not least.

Thank you for restating our plight! We still haven't been officially terminated! I had just gotten my license two months before the office was closed. I hadn't even had the time to get my feet wet. Now, I'm taking the time (until my 6 months is up for most companies to be released) to study more and do research and come up with a new plan of approach as an INDEPENDENT AGENT. I am also taking this time to try to make a difference for future agents who might consider an Amerilife Career Agency. I do believe that they should be held accountable. I'll let you know how that goes.

Thanks for the tip!! Didn't know they do that..I will get right on it!!! Good luck to all that has had the same experience as me,,,I am also a brand new agent, newly licenced and did not know any better!!!!

landandseadog...it takes about 3-4 weeks to get that all done. You will need to spell out exactly what is incorrect, both in their calculations and with the law, so you may need to seek legal advice as well. We found it VERY helpful! Read you contract very carefully and note everything that they have done that is not what they said they would do in the contract. Let me know how things turn out!

AFLEK.... your emotions over your experience with AmeriLife seems to cloud your ability to read clearly. I never called any agent posting about AmeriLife liars. NEVER! I would think their experience is valid.... it is just that almost every post complaining about AmeriLife never reports that they are speaking of the Career agency.

I want to make sure that independents recognize that there is another side to the company, and THEY DO NOT SCREW AROUND WITH INDEPENDENTS. They know if they do, they stand to lose more in the long run.

Career agents, being captive, are fish in a barrel. I feel sorry for them... yet there are some FMOs that will attempt to run their businesses as if their contracted independents were captive. We who are independent will call them out on this forum, and try to warn other independents to avoid them. Since I have named some of the FMOs that treat independents unfairly, I take the responsibility to make it clear that AmeriLife is NOT ONE OF THEM to the best of my knowledge.

It is only right that we treat FMOs fairly who treat us fairly. We are all for lambasting the bad guys.

Wow...bottom line..stay out of Amerilife's way...having experience with them.....look at the posts. They do not bother or contact me since I did something different (but I also left with a positive bond)...should they, I have resources to position a class action and bring it to public knowledge via media....fun stuff. Newbies stay away from this company and policies...lots of churning going on there...wonder when the powers that be get clued in.

I would love to explain what is not correct, but they haven't sent me anything yet! Ever since I said I wanted proof, they have not contacted me. They have my email, my home and cell # and my address. There is no other reason for them not to contact me except they can't produce proof. As soon as I am able to get a release from this company, I'm starting a class action against them. I personally know too many people in the same situation...They left with thousands in their bonds and they were vectored also. Anyone thinking they're safe from this company is not being realistic!!

This thread was started because someone was going to work for Ameri-Life not be an independent producer for Ameri-Life.

YOU keep professing how wonderful the IMO side is, GREAT, but you know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and if they screw captives they will screw independents, because that this the culture of the company PERIOD.

All Ameri-Life cares about is MONEY, they will screw seniors, screw agents and whomever else they can for their benefit.

So praise on praise on and keep singing that happy tune.

If you have the final bond account statement that they gave you, then you can calculate what the amount actually is, if any. Remember...they have kept 3 months at the back end out until the policy finishes it's year and I know they have kept other amounts out but I'll have to research that and get back to you. There are actually other things that you and everyone can do, but I'm not at liberty to discuss it without checking with our group of people. If no one has a problem with my share then I will post it.

Oh, your MA's are locked in now and they those 3 months will credit now because they can't cancel or change those until next November.
