Anyone Work for Ameri-life?

I was just called about an interview to work for Amerilife and I was wondering what to think about the opportunity. I haven't had a job in 2 months and things are getting too tight!! I need some advice please!

There are plenty of opportunities for a dedicated senior focussed agent. I worked for A/L for 18 months and was fired because I refused to participate in their ridiculous lead program anymore. I was sick and tired a being told what do do at 8 a,m, every week day and every other Saturday. When I say I was fired I actually mean to say parolled.

Agree...and don't forget the 25% taken off the top of commissions for Bond Report..overcharges for E&O insurance, and if you sell an annuity and expect your fat commission..it will be doled out via 12-pay for new agents starting last year.....and even if you leave them with a negative bond account...seems you will get a 1099 for a year you did not work for them..and then your CPA has fun. They count on you not staying and work every advantage for the house.....I watched 32 agents come and go in 8 months and those are the ones I remember......:nah:

2 months without work, any job would be worth a shot.
If you are new to the industry go work for them and learn what not to do and hopefully make some money so you can go on your own. Just don't sign your life away with all of their companies because they won't release you. Learn and sell what you can then plan your escape. Good Luck

I am currently working for Ameri life and have been for about a year. I'm so fed up, the money that you spend for gas is no where near makes up for the amount that Im making. I've written four annuities over the past two months, split of course with either the bm or bl, and med sups, life policies too. It's been about 2 months since I delivered two life policies and still have not been paid. I just wrote 2 swlps and now they are going to keep who knows how much for my bond. If you are thinking about working for amerilife, don't. I know first hand of one office that has zero agents in it from less than one year ago. It's NOT because of the agents... Even the bls are no longer there. There is a reason that only the bm is only one left from within a year. Think very hard first before you goto amerilife.

-wow- all you guys sure have issues why is it just u few umm
well have stayed in touch with this for about a year. I like Ameri Life (thats if you guys dont mind and don't trash me to) seen a few go by the wayside for sure, most wont work at it, some should not have been taken aboard in the first place. This is a tough business for sure. everyone has been just fine, any issues that have come (pay or otherwise) up been fixed some quickly some not so quick. such is life in the business soup. Management, as helpful as any I have encountered elsewere. Leads, well some good some not. so whats new with that. In my case I needed help with starting over, they (agents and managers alike) were all about helping me whatever I needed Thanks. NEVER seen an agent or manager do anything to any senior that would hurt them NEVER. I like the way they help manage the commission accounts. Now, for all you new people, dont let others with an axe to grind sway you away from giving this company a fair chance to help you, yes the grass may be greener and Im sure it is for some. Now for you,who are grinding your axes, this assessment comes from someone with some salt in the game, you can trash this and me if you like and you will based on what I see here. If your new in the senior market go find out for yourself, you'll know in enough time ifan Ameri Life parternership is right for you or not, I'v seen lots more new people with honest work ethic's be helped, than I see bad comments on this board. oh, and by the way, you guy's who think that this outfit has market on doing bad to others , REALLY, you boys need to get out more. LOL

It would be great there Daverain if you would spell properly when standing up for the company you work for.

There is a lady who works for us who is presently being hounded for $3,500 from Amerilife on a charge back.

The funny thing is SHE had sent Amerilife a letter last fall on them oweing her $3,500 in commissions!

Amerilife is a joke and has a horrible reputation among seniors in our area and most of what is in this thread I have seen first hand in a 2 month stint to sell one of their products.

Beware!!!!!

Agreed.

You lose all credibility when you cannot write without embarrassing yourself, appearing as though you wrote your reply in an outhouse somewhere.

I interviewed with these Amerlife people, and just didnt feel comfortable with the interviewer or the methodologies....and it didn't sound like any of these "pre-set" appointments were ever actually "pre-set".

Just a lotta smoke from some smoker's-voiced lady with visible tattoos, who expected nothing she said to be questioned or clarified.

Fish tend to rot from the head.

I'd avoid.............them, NAA, Securus, a few others I've interviewed with.

Funny story on this subject.. I have an Agent that contracted with Ameri-Life a year ago via their online contracting system. He hasn't wrote business but now come to find out when he filled out the online contracting, they contracted him with every company they had and put him into 2yr contracts instead of the standard 6 months of no production and you're free to transfer. So now you have a P*ssed off Agent locked into contracts for another 12mnths and you're not going to get him to write business with you anyway.. I never understood why some companies do that..
