Anyone Work for Ameri-life?

Roll call.

Who is enjoying this gorgeous day and who is stuck in meetings all day today with a bunch of newbie agents? Most of the GMs will be at the hotel bar all day.

Yes, All I can say is if you decide to affilliate yourself with them-be careful. I found them to be very deceitful in most areas. They love to get new inexperienced agents in then the uppe management can get them to go out and find the big deals and the new agent makes peanuts. They just keep stringing you along until you either rise above them or quit. If you have a pocket full of money you might make it, but if you don't you will probably lose everything if you believe everything they tell you. Go in with eyes WIDE open.

I just applied for an office job at Amerilife in Clearwater does anyone know how they treat their office employees?

Have you read these posts? All I can say is that if you are still considering working for Amerilife after being fully informed the character of the company and its management, you deserve every bad thing that happens to you. No doubt you are an Obama voter -- can see all evidence to the contrary, yet do it anyway.

Just started haven't done any training, but have turned in my blues which they were on me all day to do... Any consequences with the blues if never did any work with them?? I thought about the 50desk fee can they still charge Me if I never worked there???

Look at all the posts here and know that signing the "blues" is a big mistake. Best thing you can do is get out before getting appointed to any individual insurance carriers. Although the desk fee won't start for probably 3 months, that is the least of your worries.

I am another agent that left Amerilife after learning about them the hard way. I stayed 3 years to be sure to qualify for my renewals. They screwed me on my renewals anyway and won't release me from my appointments either. Within a week of leaving I had many customers calling me because Amerilife agents were at their house trying to roll my business.

Amerilife goes thru new agents like kids through cereal. They don't want you to last. They hype you up to go out and bird dog business for them which they always put their name on the app instead of yours so they can get the renewals when you are gone. They'll tell you its only because they are the senior agent and that they will show its a split deal on the cover sheet. They know they won't pay renewals on your little deals that you write by yourself either. As soon as you are gone they call your clients and tell them that you no longer work with Amerilife and that they are assigning a new agent to their account and need to have that agent come out to introduce themselves and review the clients coverage to make sure every thing is in order.

If you stay be prepared to have weeks with no pay or maybe earn less money than you spend on expenses like gas and food. They advertise how the average agent makes big money but truth be told most make less than minimum wage when you factor in expenses and charge backs. That's why the turn over is so great.

I wish you luck in what ever you decide to do. Personally I got out of insurance completely and am glad I did. I make more money, get paid every week and can pay my bills on time.

I'm guessing that you just found this thread. Please take the time and read from page one on, please.

You will not be released from any of the carriers they contract you with for 2 years once you leave. Call Clearwater immediately and tell them not to process your blues. I am as serious as a heart attack.

Also, go read the AmreriLife thread on the General Discussions forum about how they held renewal checks for weeks prior to Steak & Beans. This will be your life.

Like crap.

I know many of the ladies who are office staff in Clearwater and Administrative Assistants in field offices.

You'll be over worked, under paid, be expected to work weekends doing things like decorating the office for ridiculous contests, and the 2 Saturday Steak & Beans all day functions and the mandatory, yes mandatory, company picnic in July and the mandatory, again, mandatory Christmas Gala (hubby better have a tux- or he must rent one), be treated like a moron, and be retaliated against if you speak up.

Please keep looking.

While they might suck for producers, most around here have no idea how the office staff is treated.

I know many of the miserable and trapped employees so I have more than an idea. I know facts, which pcb likes.

RUN RUN RUN away, don't walk...they are just down the road from me and I can tell you they are crooks from the get go. The only thing they have for an agent is lousy training that you can learn on your own or with a much better IMO, FMO or agency.

Don't sign anything with any carriers or you will be very sorry for a long long time.

The whole system is designed to scam agents, put fear inside of you to quit, and screw you on your book of business while offering well below par contracts and commissions.

The best thing you can do is just tell other people how crappy they really are.

Bottom line, if you are a paid employee office staff worker, be very leery of their hiring tactics. If this is the only job you can find, well you can take it, but you might not be able to sleep at night seeing all the agents getting screwed over and over and being subject to the crappy practices of this organization.

So even though I haven't started training with amerilife and was just getting paperwork done including the blues, I did tell them to hold my paperwork, I wanted to go out with someone to do a house call... They did not like this and told me I should know whether I wanted to do it or not. Haha so with my blues on hold... And then telling them I didn't want to work with them should I still be worried, I tried calling the CEO and the office both ignored me, but I will be dropping by to give a written notice just make sure everything is fine... Can they just process my paperwork even though I was still hesitant and now not wanting to work for them???
