Anyone Work for Ameri-life?

Sorry to see another person going thru this. There is no good news here since they hook you with a do not compete clause. When you leave you will only get a handful of renewal checks and they will only give you about half what you would have gotten if you were still there, then they stop sending those. As soon as you leave they will work hard to roll any business they can immediately. They'll introduce themselves as your friend and say how much they miss you but then do everything in their power to put the customer in a different policy for their own commissions. They also will send out 1099's for the next two years even if you haven't received any payments from them. The best you can do is get away as soon as possible. You won't regret leaving Amerilife, you'll just regret ever working for them.

Hello to the forum. I'm a new agent 3 years in the business and unfortunately made the mistake of contracting with AMERILIFE. I didn't do the necessary research, when another agent recruited me with these parasites. Please help instruct me on how to break my ties with them. I have a negative bond currently, mostly due to suspicious charge backs. Suspicious because the carriers are still drawing premiums. I need HELP.

So sorry- wish you had seen this thread before signing on with them.

Just do it- the sooner the better. Every moment you spend with them you are being sucked in deeper.

Go contract with a carrier that they do not have because you will have a 2 year non compete and their newbies will be playing rolly polly with the clients you wrote.

Good luck.

Thanks for the immediate response Blue and Angel. Their asking the agents to sign new blues which I'm trying to avoid. There are a couple of medicare plans that I can try to get appointed with, but I'll need new E&O insurance. Can you recommend some good companies. My 2-15 is current but I'll have to do my CE in a few months. I. would like to sell AMERICO again and their no longer marketing that company. I booked close to 200 clients and may be able to save 75%. I used the MAs and the UHC sups as a way to set up my F/X and Life policies follow ups. All of my contact info is current and I will do my best to prep the clients on my inevitable move. Unfortunately my funds are limited so I'm feeling like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I really haven't had the incentive to write any more business, but I have to eat. Any advice on F/X ,medicare, or E&O will be greatly appreciated.

Man, I feel your pain.

The two year non compete starts the minute you leave so have your exit plan in place. Tell no one.

Getting a MA company way before AEP is essential to you eating- contracting can take a couple of months. Start now. United will give you a contract after 6 months. Freedom 18 months. Wait until you see how much more they pay you.

You can get E&O much cheaper than what you are now being charged by your current parasite (your words) FMO, with a monthly payment plan.

There are plenty of FE and Life carriers not affiliated with Amerilife- just be wary.

Find an agent you trust and bring him in on clients you want to keep but know will let Amerilife agents in. Amerilife agents will be in your houses the minute you leave to twist, churn and roll them. Be on the offensive.

You can do this! Good luck!

If your leaving Amerilife, read this and read it carefully. First understand that Amerilife will Vector you, they will enforce the non-compete in a court of law. This will take place in Clearwater, FL. You will not beat them in this venue. If you try to preserve your business or replace your business as was discussed previously in this thread, this will give them all the reason in the world to go into attack mode. You must stay out of their path.

If you are Vectored, you will be given a time period to contest this. Do so by requiring Amerilife to produce documentation proving the debit balance with their company. They (most likely) will not produce this documentation and the Vector will go away.

If you are served with court papers that you have broken the non-compete, resolve the matter with them directly, immediately. You will not beat them in court. Attorney fees to defend yourself will range in tens of thousands of dollars. They will only come after you in this manner if you deliberately piss them off. Once again, stay out of their path.

To leave, you must find one or two FMO's that will contract you with all the products you need. These all need to be submitted at once and this needs to take place approximately 3 - 4 weeks before you leave the company. Once they find out, you will already be gone and have all the contracts you need in place.

There is more to this puzzle, but not enough time and space here to put it all together for you. The important thing is to not piss them off. they will let you go peacefully if you keep the majority of your contracts with their FMO side of the house. This is predicated on your NOT pissing them off. They are the 800 pound gorilla and their actions reflect this fact.

What AML office are you in? Perhaps I can send an angel your way.

I need all the Angels that I can get at present, but please don't be offended if I don't disclose my location more than to say that I'm on the East coast of FL at this time. I wouldn't be surprised if they have people monitoring this site and this thread in particular. I'm sure that I will be vectored, so anything that I do will need to be under the rader until I'm working elsewhere.

Thanks for the advise EA. You must have gone through this yourself, because I have witnessed these actions with other agents that I know.

I am leaving, but need a recommendation to some solid FMO's that will work with a rookie. E&O guidance will be much appreciated as well. I'm just annoyed that a good portion of my book was clients that I found on my own and that I will have to leave with them not to piss Amerilife off. I do have clients that won't work with anyone but me and would I hate to have their commitment to our relationship to be seen as me interfering with Amerilife.

Any suggestions?

Hi Everyone,

First of all, I want to thank everyone that contributed to this forum in regards to providing their experience good or bad with AmeriLife. I'm new to the forum and I have been reading through a lot of the comment posts on here, let me say that I'm truly glad I came across this forum when I did because it will save me from a lot of problems down the road.

I recently got hired to come aboard with AmeriLife in Florida but I delayed the process because I was finishing up my MBA program. I filled out the application paper work but haven't started working or training which is schedule for the first week of August 2014. After doing my research and reading through this forum, I decided that this is not the right company for me to work for so I will not accept the job or go to training next month.

So, my question to anyone on here, what are some trust worthy integrity companies in the insurance field that provide great training and support for new people coming into this field of work that I can get started with here in Florida? I saw a post on here about Liberty National not being a good company to go work for so hopefully someone can be so kind to point me in the right direction, I truly would appreciate it.

My friends in tampa and went threw the whole licensing gig and was brainwashed and I directedhime here and he finally woke up. I was at an insurance meeting last week and a girl just went with them and was so unhappy as she said they won't pay her and another guy said they almost destroyed him and its taken 5 yrs to get away from them with some companies. Everyone said there leads are horried and when you join they give you company leads that have been used 10 5-10 times. my friend actually called some and people were angry as somany people had bugged them before. they also contract you with a lot of lower rated companies
