Appointment "Scripts"....

"If it's enough of a concern, we can get together to take a look at your situation. If it looks like I can help, I'll tell you, if not, I'll tell you that too. If it's not much of a concern, we don't have to go any further. What do you think?"

Now all of you old school guys can go ahead and blast what I'm saying out of the water. You may even call me weak for giving the prospect an out. However, I always get invited in, I don't force my way in the door.

I do phone sales so I won't say a word, but oddly I get invited over very often.

Some clients you just click with.

Something that I haven't seen broached on this thread:

Doesn't it make a lot of sense to give the prospective client the choice of whether to meet in person (belly to belly) or do it over the phone?

If they won't make some time to sit down with you either there is no pain, or they are simply not serious and (we are told) you are best to move on

Or...

You haven't made a connection. They don't feel as though they are going to get a significant benefit in return for their time.

Or...

They are jaded by past experiences with insurance men/women. Fear of being brow beat into oblivion if you "get together".

Now if you can find a way to diffuse that...

I do . . . when it comes up.

Few ask, but the few that do say "do we HAVE to meet?".

Only if you really feel a need. Otherwise, we can handle it by phone & email.

I have to agree with what everyone is saying about that script, insureds don't know insurance, but we should never rub that in.... Also based on these objections, I don't really believe they are warm leads!!!
