Appointment Setter

It doesn't look like very many people use an appointment setter. I see some do but I would figure that to be the route of the majority.

I'm curious, for those that don't use an appointment setter is there a specific reason?
Have you tried it in the past and switched back to doing it yourself?

I would think it would keep you working more leads and closing more policies.
Any companies out there that specialize in setting appointments on your behalf?

I picked up mine on E-Lance.

Pay $5 and post a job for an appointment setter paying $10 an hour and you'll get a dozen or so responses.

Most likely, you'll have to train them on how to appointment-set effectively, and results are better if you've called for appointments at one point in the past.

How is that working for you? What does a group like EFES think about using appointment setters versus doing it oneself?

What difference does it make what EFES thinks about it? You are independent with EFES and can do your business in any manner you please.

But there are many agents at EFES that use appointment setters. Most of the really heavy hitters use an appointment setter.

I have used an appointment setter in the past and I have used preset appointments in the past. I don't like either.

I prefer to be the one making contact so that I know what's said to the person and how it's said. EFES also has teleleads and I don't like them either. mainly because of the amatuers they have making the calls.

It also depends on how many leads you are using per week. A person using 15 leads a week would be foolish to hire an appointment setter. if you can't run 15 leads a week without help you are in the wrong business.

Especially a new agent should learn to make their own appointments. As Rearden said, you would have to train your appointment setter. How could you train them if you can't do it yourself?

The agents I know that are using an appointment setter successfully are getting 25 to 40 leads per week.

There is no "Easy button" for this job.

It doesn't matter what EFES says but that was asked to see if this is a practice used by successful agents or not. Your answer indicates the answer is sometimes.

Well you asked what EFES "thinks" about it. I guess I misunderstood your question?

I've probably had 6-8 since I started in this business.

The one I have is working great; only thing I complain about is wishing these lead respondents would pick up the phone some weeks.

Thanks JD. Im not looking for an easy button just would prefer to spend more time running appointments than making calls. I know I have a LOT to learn and I may be far fetched in my vision but I think it would be great to run 5-6 appointments a day 5-6 days a week. I dont think that could be possible without an appointment setter.
appreciate all the feedback

i could not do the volume of business that i need to do without a good appointment setter. I highly recommend... BUT not until you have a few months of running 20+ leads per week yourself
