Are You Guys Slow Right Now?

Thanks. And yeah, this is a long haul game for me. My motivation was my kids. By all indications, the family business will be going to their cousin so I wanted something to give my kids as well. Perpetuation with no strings attached is a BIG deal for me. More than willing to give up a little in the way of compensation today to that end. If all I wanted was the extra spending money, it would've been easy to have stayed with Nationwide.

FWIW, their contingency threshold is low enough for me to achieve in 1-2 years. I'm already qualified for contingency with my biggest NS carrier, who while they ARE NS, they do like super clean business and somewhat bridge the gap between NS and standard. Hopefully not jinxing it, but I have a SUPER low LR with that carrier. Haulers seems to pick up the ground between them and Travelers, who I'm well on my way to getting the new business requirements to get that appointment via IIAB. I like the way things are looking right now.

The last 10 days of a year and the first two weeks of a new year are always very slow for us (as a note we are an 80% commercial agency), in particular in the prospecting for new accounts arena. From a new business perspective 1/1 is a huge date and by this point all of those have, for the most part, already been decided. There's still one or two that are awaiting a decision. Likewise, February in this area is a notoriously slow month for renewal dates and so there isn't a lot of prospecting in early January. In about mid-January we will start ramping up towards all the March accounts and it stays full throttle for the remainder of the year.

I'm using the down time right now to prepare for other changes that will be coming for us in 2016. Primarily the addition of a new staff member next month and, the biggest change, the beginning of construction on a new office building sometime this summer.

Seems to be a good time for cold-calling in the commercial world. We had a 15% jump in sessions (392) and a 37% increase of number of users (47% of which were new users) this Monday-Wednesday vs. last M-W.

PA, NJ, FL and TX accounting for 64% of overall sessions. As a side note the activity from the previous M-W (12/14-16) was about 10% below the annual average, which skews these figures a bit, but not by much.

I mean I know it's Xmas time but the last 3-4 business days I've been like done working after only 4-5 hours....

...I....Don't like this feeling...I prefer mayhem & more sales then I can handle. I watched a movie for the first time in like 1.5 years & all I could think about was how much of a time waster it was.

We've been way busy past week. Its all non standard and I suspect the holiday get insurance to travel crowd. Not ideal, but usually we do see some stick after the season if we are on top of them. We also had our first blatant attempt to pass a fake note. Coal and cuffs for that guy!

Really slow in the non-standard world.

Clients forgoing insurance to buy cheap plastic junk from Wal-Mart.

I stayed at the office late waiting on this couple to come pay to prevent a cancellation, they never showed up. We saw them later that night at Wal-Mart with two carts full of stuff, then I ran into another customer with a pending cancellation who was getting materials to make elf costumes and also had an overflowing shopping cart.

January will be charge back time for me.

We've been slow writing but quoting has been there. January is going to be a stellar month for us I feel in nb premium. We also are taking on another preferred company in january. I'm looking forward to utilizing them.
