BACON IS FOR CLOSERS...

Man that's hared core, I think I will be around 50 at first mainly because I will need to figure out what meats and how I will prepare to have around at all times at first I think I will end up with salads for lunch till I fix that problem, After the first week I should have that settled and I think I can be under 20 but I can't see doing 0 carbs that is maybe too hardcore for me

Maybe over the summer when I can barbeque a lot
I carry clean beef jerky in the car with me, along with unflavored pork rinds. (I'm avoiding chemical additives like nitrates and MSG; flavor enhancers that, besides having negative effects on health, also cause me to want to eat more than I need. MSG also seems to make me crave sweets.) I order "old fashioned" beef jerky online:
LA's Original - Old Fashioned Jerky - People's Choice Beef Jerky

I get a 1 lb jar of pork rinds at Sam's Club: https://www.samsclub.com/p/members-...k-rinds-16oz/prod22644730?xid=plp_product_1_1

Just be aware that the first three days can be rough - headaches and lethargy as your brain and muscles learn to live off protein and fat rather than sugar. After that, your energy levels should steadily increase.
Ahh, the Keto Flu. Yep, after 3 days it was gone and I felt better.

It's a good thing you warned me about it or I probably would have stopped the diet.

In one of the Keto food lists Dave gave me, it says 20 carbs a day after your "reset".

I've gotten to where I don't mind eating pork rinds............since they're the closest thing to a potato chip I can eat. They're so dry though, so I like to dip them in salsa.

Wow Really don't know if I could do 0 now

Might be able to do under 20 though, Might start today so far only 5 carbs today, I might even be able to stay at 5 for today, Might just go get some ribs for dinner no sauce

In fact, I think i will start today because the weekend is a good time to go through the wost so it does not affect buis too much

I will waste some food that I have but I got a good start on the day I hate to waste momentum

When I started the Keto diet, I gave one of my sons most of the food I had. Most of it wasn't Keto friendly.

Once you make it past the "flu", stay on it. It'll reset your eating habits.

Only eat when you're hungry and stop eating when you're no longer hungry. You don't have to eat at 8, noon and 6 all the time. Only eat when you're hungry. Sometimes my 1st meal of the day would be 5pm.

I ate nothing but bacon and drank only water for the 1st 8 days. bacon grease makes your stomach feel full.

Whethervyou think you can or youbthink you can't, you're right, as Henry Ford once said.

Dude ... it's meat. Just go for it… You will be very glad you did.

Ok At 5 carbs today so far and ready to go I don't see myself eating anything but leat today

Going food shopping tonight

Funny how big changes happen fast every time, I am in it before I realize it

Ok, I took my first step by putting butter in my coffee just now. It's not nearly as weird as I thought it would be. As a matter of fact, I like it!

Can't really start in earnest until after the holiday. Too much eating of other people's cooking. But I did order a pound of this "keto-friendly" jerky:
BEEF JERKY - OLD FASHIONED - ORIGINAL

I am day 4 now

I've been using nut pods creamer, It needs a sweetener I've used a sweet and low with it and it's been ok

However I read about the butter in the coffee online, I gave it a try this morning and I was surprised how well it worked

If fact haven't eaten anything yet and not even hungry and I didn't feel like I needed as much coffee this morning either

I think I will have one cup with butter each day

First Post... of the 2020! Been on a very relaxing vacation with family and friends and after more than 2000 miles am ready to jump back in the saddle. Thought it most appropriate to post here first. :)

During my absence I received my new drivers license in the mail. Looking old and fat again...

One of my New Year Rhythms, (as my wife likes to refer them) is a drastic reduction in sugar and a very purposeful attempt to reduce inflammation in my diet and daily life. This is a long game for me. My dad is 87 and if the Lord blesses me that far along, I want to be in the best of shape.

Here's to all of you hard working providers... May your 2020 be the best yet!
