BACON IS FOR CLOSERS...

This is so true in the way politics dictate science not just with food but many other subjects as well
It wasn't the government pushing smoking.. It was the medical profession..... 4 0ut of 5 doctors prefer Camels …. Smoking is good for digestion... Smoking relieves tension … etc. You might could say that the govt. pushed through tobacco subsidies but that is about as far as it went... Oh, and they did provide soldiers with cigarette rations.

I'm sure the tobacco companies funding helped push that rhetoric Both in medicare fields and in the govt, Politics are in the mix and as usual Money is pushing the political view and money pushes the study results

it all goes hand in hand

I just want to say I am amazed I am down 17 LBS, More than that I am shocked at as the weeks go by I am eating less and less

It's hard to plan because I never know when I won't be able to eat as planned, What I bought 3 weeks ago based on what I was eating then isn't moving too fast,

Someday's I only eat 1 time Some days I eat more, I never know when I get hungry during the day and just not hungry for dinner except its tough because if my Wife takes something out to make for dinner Then what do I do

I hear you. When my wife gets hungary and I'm not, she eats and I warm it up later.

Just a warning...after you get Keto, you'll really notice if you cheat on the carbs very much.

One day I was down on missing the carbs, Then I saw online a video someone suggested to eat chicking wings when starting keto as A first meal

I thought chicken wings were breaded, But I looked at the nutrition chart from a wild wings place by me with a dry rub plus blue cheese and the celery side was only like 5 carbs

I really enjoyed them, and thought, Man I didn't eat his good for years trying to lose weight

I get to eat burgers (lettuce wrapped but ohh so good) Ribs

And never forget the bacon

I mean I get too eat way more good then I did before

So I don't get to eat pizza, I miss it, but last few years I could put away a whole pie and not feel satisfied and worse get depressed and sluggish laying on the couch afterward

Now I am satisfied with all the time, I feel full the way I am supposed too, I wouldn't trade that in for some carbs at least I feel strongly about that now, Might struggle more with that after I lose the weight I don't know but doubt it now anyway

You Know I feel like I have appetite superpowers now

You can make buns with a little Almond flour, cheese, (and I think milk) on a waffle iron. Wife did this yesterday and it's pretty good!

You can also eat pizza, just not the dough. Make the "dough" by using strips of bacon interweaved. We had this on Saturday. It was great!!

Honestly, I don't mind not having burger buns, I do lettuce wraps when I am in the mood or just on a plate if I am into that at the time

Wow Bacon for dough sounds amazing though

I love pizza. My facebook page is a shrine to all the pizza I cannot eat. If I had a slice, I'd have a pie. And like, you I'd feel hungry not long after and have no energy.

If you are like most of us, you are a carb addict. And just like an alcoholic, heroin junkie, coke addict etc., you can't go back thinking you'll be able t moderate your intake. Many a successful keto diet has been derailed when the person achieved their goal weight and thought it was now ok to have carbs "once in a while."

You lost 17 pounds without really trying. I would bet that your blood pressure is down, your triglycerides are down, and your resting heart rate is down. No pizza or donut or even "keto-friendly Frankenfood" is worth undoing that progress.

However, your cholesterol may be up. Before you ever allow yourself to panic about that do some research on cholesterol. It is not the marker of heart disease we've been led to believe at all - far from it. I have a neighbor who lost 80 pounds on keto, reversed her diabetes, cured her neuropathy, and brought her blood pressure under control without meds. But her cholesterol went through the roof, and so her doctor told her that she needed to quit keto because it would kill her.

God bless her, she got herself a new doctor!

Congrats on your progress - and the very best of health to you!

Yes Have seen a lot of info now, Some about the cholesterol, Need to do a bit more before I can speak intelligibly on the subject Seems its more on the correlation of the HDL and LDL than it is about the levels

Mostly I am not shocked about the politics of it though I have seen it many times on many subjects
