BCBS FL 700 Plan (is this Not True Major Medical?)

The 700 plan is not a major medical plan, and for one primary reason: the "$50" contributions towards doctor and specialist visits do NOT go towards reducing the out of pocket maximum on the plan. The 700 is basically a 570 Hospital Surgical plan with a GoBlue 91 layered on top of it, with an aggressive PD plan built into the back end. Blue is trying to get rid of it, on account of it being too benefit rich for the premium charged. Come October 1st, it isn't going to matter, as all Hospital Surgical plans will be "non qualified" under ObamaCare.

But the poor people who have to stay on it until the first of the year probably will have a very hefty increase Aug 1. I wouldn't be surprised if it's around 25%.

Thanks for everyone's input. I did end up selling her a better policy the end of March, in my opinion. I did my research and listened to the forum members and gave her the best, in my opinion. Once again, the forum has helped me and a client!!

You're the first agent that I know of that bought that policy. With your STM comment in the other thread, I'm assuming you only do medicare?

Actually I think only the hospital plans only are gone Jan 1, 700 I have been told will be gone with all the rest on the plan year anniversary which would be Aug 1, 2014, we will see.
