Best Cell Phone for Agents and Why?

So I've been looking around here for discussions about cell phones.... what's best for an active Insurance Agent... haven't seen anything on this.

I'd like to hear what others are using, and why.

I use a LG VU920 (AT&T) it's a touch screen, that even
let's me get my emails and text messages, all my contacts,
etc. Thinking of switching to the iPhone. But so
far, it's helped me out greatly.

Wondering what others are using in their biz and
how it helps??

Great thread and very timely for me because my Sprint contract is up and the only reason I am considering staying with them is that I have a 25 % employee discount from years ago that they haven't taken away.So if I stay with Sprint I was thinking about their IPhone equivalent The Touch.Anybody know about this phone ?

As far as the IPhone is the talk quality good ? How about the speaker phone ? ( very important for me when doing an MA verifications or life application interviews so as you can be on the same page with prospect and make funny faces and point at things when prospect starts going off script )

I have an ultra portable laptop with an aircard so having a handheld internet device is not as important if if I am sacrifing phone calling quality.

How does the iPhone 3G compare to the Palm Pre? @ EveryiPod.com

stay away from anything made by HTC, they phones heat up to uncomfortable levels, syncing is hard, and low operating RAM. I am currently using their Mogul, not bad, but i want an iphone, less problems better browser

Have to disagree there, G1 is an HTC product with easy drop and drag features for syncing, fast and computer like browsing.

HTC Dash and Shadow phones are horrible due to the windows mobile system on them

Just got an Iphone and don't know how I possibly lived without it. A must have.

Hmmm. Will an iMac be next for the man who loves his Windows PC? :D

I think I'm the only agent on the planet who runs an agency with Apple equipment. No crashes, no viruses, no spyware... everything just works.

It's a tiny bit more effort to run Windows software (such as the quote engine from Ohio National or Winflex) but it's no big deal via Parallels or VMWare (each is about $75).

Everyone who owns and runs their own biz should LOVE Apple Computer. They've done what no one else seems to be able to do... make money in a down market. Apple 2Q profit gains 15 percent, beats Street by AP: Yahoo! Tech They make money the way you (we) make money... by selling on value and service, not price.

No. Neither the company nor their products are perfect... but I know after two years of trouble-free computing that the value I get is well worth... and far exceeds... the price I pay. Apple "gets it."

Sure, you can pay far less for a computing platform, and if money is tight... you should. But if you can afford $1200, you get one hell of a nice computer and a ton of software that comes with it.

But if you love your Windows PC, by all means keep that. It's all about what works for YOU... and as always with computers, YMMV.

i use the new blackberry... no probs

i run 3 cpu's on my desk every day... 2 pc's and i apple... cant wait for the mac i bought 1 year ago to die... they suck... not comaptiable for biz owners... they are nothing but a toy. the insurance business just does not seem to want to work with them... sorry al3

Had a Palm Treo running Windows Mobile - loved it.

Bought an iPhone - hated it. No ability to create/edit docs or spreadsheets, or store files on my phone. And the touchscreen sucked to get messages out on.

Returned the iPhone, got a Blackberry Bold - like it a lot. I would prefer one of the newer designs (8900, 9630), but it works just like I want it to.
