Hey @johnkearnsagency congrats!
Tell Talman Howard I said, "Hi"
If you could have had a Service Center do it for less that X% of your renewals and if you could not get locked into the Service center model for the duration of your contract, would that have attracted you?
No, having the carrier service center wouldn’t of attracted me unless it was the only carrier I was dealing with. Having Brightway’s service team handling all the servicing, claims, and annual review allows me to focus on growth of my agency/franchise. Additionally the 50% split on the renewal commission is much more than just handling my servicing needs. If that was the case I would of hired a CSR eventually like with my captive agency I owned and went completely IA on my own or thru a cluster or agency group. I wanted to follow a proven system that I can leverage and grow as fast as possible. Brightway seems to be the best solution for my needs.
No binding authority kills the deal. Its like asking mommy for a cookie and waiting till she gets off the phone.
The service team at Brightway handles 100% of the service and retention or do they kick some back to you? Also how long before you own your book?
Grats. So you put 25k down? And working from home? Or office front.
I have binding authority. Brighway is not an wholesaler/aggregator like Superior Access or a few of the others, nor are they a general agency. However you do have access to a few GA's, if you need them.
The Brightway service team handles 100% of the service and retention work. If something needs to be rewritten or moved to another carrier or if a client asks for a quote for a new line of business, then they throw it back to the agent.
No one really owns a policy, but you can own or have vested interest in the policy commissions. With Brightway you both share that vested interest as partners. That's the best way to say it.
Did not have to put down any upfront capital or pay any type ongoing monthly costs other than marketing on my end under the new start up program for independent agents, which allows you to build a your book and work from home. After 6 months to 1 year, depending on when you meet your initial policy sales goal you can transition to one of the three franchise models they have and in-house finance the franchise fee.
