I'm thinking that the time to have hired this person... was BEFORE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES LEFT THE STATE!!! 🙄

The California Department of Insurance is actively seeking a Pre-Disaster Mitigation Specialist (Research Data Specialist I) in our Climate & Sustainability Branch to provide critical data analysis focused on reducing risks from wildfires, flooding events and extreme heat.
In this role, you'll independently research and evaluate mitigation strategies, develop analytical models assessing climate risks, and create clear visual reports informing statewide resilience policies. Your work will directly influence decisions on insurance availability, risk management, and community preparedness throughout California.

So, the insurance commissioner has a branch for Climate & sustainability? wonder how many people are employed in that branch. They may want to prune that branch before the next wildfires

If we remove the political connotation and just focus on weather hazards that California gets: floods, wildfires, earthquakes, and whatever else, it makes sense.

They won't 'prune' that branch until we get a new insurance commissioner, right @Al3x Lee ?
