Hi,

Are there any carriers who will insure a 61 year old smoker with CHF? He is still working and seems quite healthy. Contractor for over 30 years.

Also, what carrier for FE would accept him as well? He needs a good amount of coverage for his dependents but is on a tight budget so we can't go all permanent. Any advice would appreciated, thanks!

Congestive Heart Failure: ACI(Graded), Bankers Fidelity(Graded), GWIC(Level if no problems or change in medication or dosage in last 2 years)

The fact that the OP said "he seems quite healthy" is mind blowing. This is an agent saying this.

Do you realize what CHF is? Nobody with CHF can be "quite healthy". The average life expectancy of someone diagnosed with CHF is about 10 years. It's the most serious heart condition you can have.

And this guy still smokes. He won't make it another 3 years most likely.

So what part of your reply contains a recommended company, as requested in my post?

Great Western might work, depending on if the meds have changed in the past 2 years. If they have not, then it will be level death benefit. '

If he can't get day 1 coverage with GW, then you would have to go with a company that has a GI policy, such as AIG or Gerber.
